Hillary Clinton, who has turned to Hollywood for support as a politician, is now seeking another role — that of film producer.
Clinton and daughter Chelsea are forming a production company to pursue film and television projects and have spoken to studios about financing a pipeline of programs, reported Bloomberg.
Hoping to use film and television to influence culture and society, the Clintons plan to focus on stories by and about women, Bloomberg said.

The initiative is similar to Barack and Michelle Obama’s production company, Higher Ground Productions, which signed a deal with Netflix Inc. (Nasdaq: NFLX) last year.
Among their first slate of projects are an adaptation of Michael Lewis’s book about federal bureaucracy, a drama series about the fashion world in post-World War II New York City, a Frederick Douglass biopic, and a kids show from one of the creators of “Drunk History.”
Clinton, who ran two losing campaigns for president, is a familiar face in Hollywood fundraising events and has a large base of donors there, including Steven Spielberg, Jeffrey Katzenberg and director J.J. Abrams.
Last year Clinton partnered with Spielberg and his Amblin TV to produce a TV series called, “The Woman’s Hour,” which is an adaptation of Elaine Weiss’ book about women who fought for the right to vote.
“Hillary is still very popular out here and there’s been conversations with several studios and streamers about working on projects together,” a top-tier executive told Deadline on Thursday, emphasizing that nothing has been finalized yet.
The production company is just one of the projects being pursued by Clinton, who also served as secretary of state, a U.S. senator for New York, the first lady of the U.S., and the first lady of Arkansas.
Since the 2016 election, which she lost to Donald Trump, she has formed a political action committee, published a memoir and gone on a speaking tour.
