Ghanaian politicians: Stop the Volta Basin flooding blame game - and start advocating for climate-smart policy initiatives

Dear critical-reader, has the time not now come for Ghanaian politicians from across the spectrum, to stop the Volta Basin flooding blame game - and start advocating for climate-smart policy initiatives, to protect the masses, instead?

That said, it is obvious to the world that the time has now come for all people of good conscience in Ghana, to condemn, in clear and unambiguous terms,  without any reservations whatsoever, all the politicians unfairly blaming the operators of the Akosombo and Kpong hydroelectric dams, the Volta River Authority (VRA), for the apocalyptic-flooding resulting from the spillage of excess stored-water from the said two Volta Basin hydroelectric dams.

Truth be told, dear critical-reader, the catastrophic Volta Basin flooding, which we are witnessing from media reportage on television screens across Ghana, and which is now being experienced by those living in downstream communities, along the Volta River, is an egregious example, of the existential-impacts, of a warning biosphere, that we ignore at our peril.

Ignorant politicians from across the spectrum (and the more responsible sections of Ghana's legacy mainstream media), ought to wake up to that reality, and start advocating for climate-smart policie initiatives to protect the masses, from the negative-impacts of increasingly-frequent extreme-weather-events. Now. Not tomorrow, oooo, Ghanafuor. Yooooooo...
