After the website Gawker published a series of articles critical of Silicon Valley billionaire and right-wing megadonor Peter Thiel, he began funding a series of lawsuits aimed at shutting them down. He ultimately spent a total of $10 million — and in 2016, the website, unable to pay the verdict against them, shut down.

This episode wasn’t an isolated incident but a blueprint for how deep-pocketed individuals and corporations can retaliate against journalists.

And sadly, The Intercept isn’t immune: Last year, we were sued by a billionaire defense contractor claiming defamation.

Our legal defense in that case alone has cost $200,000. We stand by our reporting, but what’s at stake in these lawsuits is much deeper: the freedom of the press to investigate the wealthiest and most powerful interests in the world.

Since Thiel began his campaign against Gawker, the wealthy and powerful have only become more aggressive in their efforts to silence the press through litigation.

Mother Jones fought off a defamation lawsuit from a billionaire Republican donor after reporting on his company’s super PAC contributions and his local political activities. The court ruled in favor of Mother Jones on all counts — but only after two years and millions in legal fees, costs that could have crushed a smaller publication.

Fox News heir Lachlan Murdoch is currently suing a small Australian news site for describing the Murdoch family as “unindicted co-conspirators” in the January 6 insurrection.

He’s using that country’s lack of free speech protections to punish journalists while Fox defends its own hosts’ lies on First Amendment grounds in America.

And last year, Supreme Court justices Clarence Thomas and Neil Gorsuch said the court should hear a challenge to the landmark free speech precedent that sets a high bar for libel lawsuits. Without that protection, countless important stories might never see the light of day.

The Intercept exists to expose injustice and take on the powerful — no matter what they throw at us.

If we don't kill high-level corruption, it will kill Ghanaian democracy, as sure as day follows night

Following the recent downpours,  conditions in the Camp Liberia refugee settlement area, sanitation-wise, are egregiously-atrocious.  I was outraged to see how a fruit seller (who keeps me supplied with fruit at affordable prices, regularly), Madam Georgina Ayeh,  was (off-water-grid) dish-washing, for her single-parent brood.

No demographic in our well-endowed aspirational African society,  should be forced to exist in such conditions. No. No. No. Case closed.  Haaba.

Ghana's greed-filled,  narrow-minded and hard-of-hearing ruling-elites, must change their evil ways, ooooo, Ghanafuo. Yoooooo...

There is no question  that the  rampant high-level corruption being engaged in by the big-thieves-in-high-places, is robbing Mother Ghana, blind, and milking her dry - such that she is unable to ensure the welfare of ordinary people: because grand-larceny, on a scale never seen before in human history, is denying our nation  the wherewithal needed  to ensure the creation of a fair and all-inclusive society.

 Ghanafuo, let us not delude ourselves, oooo: We are actually sitting on a metaphorical-social-time-bomb, which could explode suddenly, without warning.

The question to ponder over is: If today we have all the digital-tools, needed to create a prosperous, equitable and modern  African society, why then do we not move out of the shadow of conventional economic thinking, swiftly?


Will that not  make it possible,  for example, to provide digital bank accounts, at the Bank of Ghana  (BoG), for all Ghanaians citizens who elect for it, to be given DGHC300,000 to build their own family homes, repayable over 50 years, with the monthly rent of DGHC100,  counting as instalment payments?

Ditto  open digital business bank accounts at the BoG, for all Ghanaian citizens, who opt for it, to be given DGHc100, 000, repayable over 50 years, with monthly interest payments of DGHc25.00, from the end of a ten-year moratorium-timeframe? Haaba.

 
Will such imaginative policies not provide a regular source of revenue for the Ghanaian nation-state, to fund much-needed  modernisation and expansion of infrastructure nationwide, I ask, dear reader?

Given the mess our debt--burdened national economy is in, even as we speak, one wonders what disaster could possibly befall Mother Ghana, if such a creative approach to mass-empowerment, which  delivers individual self-bootstrapping-prosperity, for all marginalised demographics, in our homeland Ghana? Hmmm, ey3nsem piiiiii, oooo, Ghanafuo: If we do not kill endemic high-level corruption, it will kill Ghanaian democracy, as sure as day follows night. Yoooooo...

If you actually care about organic farming in Ghana, by our nation's most successful local agrisector social impact entrepreneurs, such as the Issa Ouedraogos, and value their potential contribution to empowering  our nation to fully  develop its undoubted capacity, seefor ensuring food security for all its people, then (based on available gathered-incontrovertible-evidence of its fraudulent serial-falsehoods communicated to Ghanaian officialdom  by Moringa), do PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, help moi to get  Moringa digitally canceled, asap, wai. Ghana's Chief Justice: 3yaa-tu-okra-3na-momoni-nyinaa-fu, wai

If you believe that despite its many failings, democracy is still a much, much  better system of government, than any other governance-system known to fickle-humans, then the concerns of Ghana's current  Chief Justice, about how dangerous undermining public confidence in the judiciary, is, is spot on. Definitely. Cool.

Sadly, however, it seems to have escaped the Chief Justice, that the worst exemplifiyers of that ilk, happen to be the regime-insider-cronies, who openly boast that they have put in place, at the helms of all our system's key institutions  (including the judiciary, for example), their ideological-soul-mates, who will more or less ensure that they can continue to dominate our homeland Ghana, even when out of power, and do so for at least the next 30 years. Sickening. Treasonable.  Abominable.  Unpardonable.

The so-called  Danquah Institute was the source of that astonishing-idiocy, dear reader. Eiiiii, Oman Ghana: enti y3wieye paaaa enei? Asem kesie bi ebeba debi ankasa oooo. Yoooooo...

For those who aren't au fait with the raison d'etre of the Danquah Institute, it is the vehicle for the plagiarised-ideas of the Western world's ultra right-wing ideologues, pushed in Ghana, as the clever-ideas of the narcissistic, too-clever-by-half Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, who is apparently a key adviser to President Akufo-Addo (any wonder that our nation is in such a shambolic state?).

Hopefully, the Chief Justice will do some straight tu-okra-3na-momoni-nyinaa-fu, talking, to the  genius-folk at the Danquah Institute, whose revisionist-historical-lies seek to brainwash our younger generations into believing that Dr. J. B. Danquah was the one-man-thousand-creator-in-chief, of the enterprise Ghana (yet, truth be told, Dr.  J.  B. Danquah  was a known well-paid-agent, of Western intelligence agencies, who sought the physical elimination of President Nkrumah to enable him eventually take over Ghana,  as it's pro-Western sell-out-puppet-in-chief). Hmmm,  eyeasem, oooo...

The fact of the matter,  which is being hidden from our younger generations, is that Dr. J. B. Danquah & Co's vision of the post-independence nation-state, meant to replace the departing British occupiers of the territorial landmass of the Gold Coast colony, was a federal state, made up of the pre-colonial era's tribal Chiefdoms, which was roundly rejected by ordinary Ghanaians, in the elections of 1951, 1954 and 1956. Wise, paaaa, as always, the aspirational African people of Nkrumah's Ghana. Cool.

Furthermore, dear reader, it was Nkrumah's vision of a united unitary African state (which would be a meritocracy, in which any citizen could rise to the top of society, regardless of their background, and in which there would be universal adult suffrage), which resonated with the masses - who voted overwhelmingly, to opt for that Nkrumahist future.  Hmmm, ey3nsem piiiiii, oooo, Ghanafuo.

A quick note to Issa Ouedraogo: On why he will eventually defeat Moringa and its legal team in the U.S

Relax, wai, Massa: For an uneducated old fool such as moi, nothing is more exciting than defeating the canny Ace Ankomahs of the expensive-to-acquire cohort in our criminal justice system.  And, we will beat them, well-well, to their utter astonishment - despite all the ongoing remote-control-machinations, being so shamelessly deployed to enable those washed-out French  racist-sods, to steal B-BOVID, your life's work,  from you. Cool.

Massa, it is very, very simple,  really. The marvellous thing about battling the world's arrogant and stupid white racists, when dealing with peoples-of-colour, is that, they, by definition, always miscalculate, and become over-confident - because they think the Black race are all unintelligent dim-witted morons. Let them dream on, the fools. Cool.

We shall force them to tell the judge precisely where the investment funds  supposedly invested in B-BOVID, to acquire that unique and pioneering social-impact agrisector business,  from you, came from.

Furthermore,  whatever the Ace Ankomahs  do in Ghana, we are eventually  heading for a legal destination where they will face  U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission,  and the U.S.Commerce Department officials, for whom greenwashing in emergent economies  (especially those that are democracies, that need growth sustained green growth, to provide employment for their younger generations, if they are to remain peaceful and politically stable countries), is a serious crime. It is at that critical-stage that Moringa and the Ace Ankomahs, will quake in their super-expensive designer-boots. Lol.

You will then find, to your delight,  that the deafening silence of the C-Suit  compliance-leads of the Banque Edmond de Rothschild Group, and that of the African Development Development Bank Group  (AfDB), will also  suddenly end, and  those well-paid  complacent-sods, will wake up with a jolt, from their deep-slumber: and they will then finally  read the riot-act, to those racist Moringa French crooks: who have miscalculated badly, in seeking to rob you in broad daylight.

Massa, in all this, you weren't ever foolish, oooo. Not at all: Both Moringa and the Ace Ankomahs owed you a duty-of-care, from day one - but did not  care, a fig, about that, because of their infernal-arrogance.  

Now, they are about to be hoisted on their own petard: They made a huge error of judgement, in not asking you to get a lawyer, to advise you, in the initial negotiations, and subsequently.

Their ruthlessness in making B-BOVID pay for the due diligence, which they conducted on B-BOVID, exclusively for their own benefit, was the first red-flag-alert, in this very, very interesting greenwashing  bell-weather-case. AfDB Group: Strip Moringa of its stewardship of earmarked agroforestry funds for Africa now, not tomorrow

Never has the need for ensuring food security in Africa, been greater, than now - as the disruption to global supply lines for the distribution of wheat and fertilisers, caused by Putin's brutal invasion of Ukraine, has shown so starkly.

That is why Africa's most successful and innovative agripreneurs (using the social impact business model) ought to be directly empowered, by leveraging grants, from the African Development Bank Group (AfDB ).

It is for that reason that one calls for the AFDB Group to immediately strip the Banque Edmond de Rothschild Group, backed, Moringa, of its stewardship of earmarked agroforestry funds for Africa. Now. Not tomorrow. It is simply not fit for that purpose. Full stop. Case closed. Haaba.

Not only have those greenwashing washed-out French rogues-extraordinaire, exploited our byzantine system, to enable them stealth-grab B-BOVID from its brilliant, orphan-made-good founder, Issa Ouedraogo, but they have also failed, egregiously, in spectacular fashion, to distribute even a single tree seedling, to any of B-BOVID's value-chain's oil palm smallholder farmer-stakeholders, to enable them diversify their income streams, and bootstrap their way to financial independence, even as we speak. Shameful. Outrageous. Unconscionable. Unpardonable.

Genuine social impact investors operate the same high ESG standards, with a management-ethos bedrocked on ethical behaviour,  wherever in the world they operate, including even nations with endemic high-level corruption and byzantine systems.

Yet, gathered-incontrovertible-evidence of Moringa’s chicanery (including serial-falsehoods communicated to Ghanaian officialdom), available to one,  show clearly that far from being genuine social impact investors, the Banque Edmond de Rothschild Group funded Moringa, is a super-ruthless and unethical foreign investor, whose management ought to be prosecuted, individually (just like Ericsson's corrupt executives in Iraq were), for their many crimes against Issa Ouedraogo, and B-BOVID, which they are now busy milking dry, by dissipating its finances (recently purchasing brand new vehicles for the comfort of management, for example). Typical greed-filled wastrels. Enough really is enough now.

In light of all the above, the time has finally come for the AfDB Group, to move swiftly, to strip Moringa of its stewardship of earmarked agroforestry funds for Africa. Today. Not tomorrow. Full stop. Moringa is not fit for that purpose, in the slightest. Case closed. Haaba.

Deploying soldiers to brutalise civilians prostitutes the honour of the noble profession of arms

 To whom it might concern: Earlier today, I was contacted  by this WhatsApp number: +233 24 973 4444. Hopefully, they are a genuine local indigenous-peoples  advocacy group,  in the Songhor Lagoon traditional area. One's cool with authenticity in such matters. Always. Cool.

However, on the other hand,  they might also be a front for the ruthless state-capture wheeler-dealer-networks, now deploying our security agencies - to enable them oppress the indigenous Ga Dangbes of the Songhor Lagoon traditional saltwinning communities, protesting against the outrageous land-grabbing-strategy, dressed as a private sector  investment agreement, which   deprives them of their major source of income: saltwinning in the Songhor Lagoon area.

 In that case, one boldly says to them: Shame on you -  you greed-filled amoral-cowards, who worship Mammon, so. Fools.

The question a wise and aspirational African people, ought to ponder over in this sensitive  matter is:  Are these greed-filled tycoons not aware that in handing such a deplorable task to our military, to execute (hounding and brutally assaulting innocent indigenous-saltwinning-peoples of the Songhor Lagoon traditional area), they are actually prostituting the honour of the noble  profession of arms,  anaaaa? Yoooooo...

In light of all the above  one makes  bold to  predict, to Ghana's powerful big-thieves-in-high-places, that one fine day, those selfsame
men and women of the Ghana Armed Forces, and the Ghana Police Service, will turn on them, too, oooo. Hmmm, Oman Ghana - enti y3wieye paaaa enei? Asem kesie bi, ebeba debi ankasa, oooo. Yoooooo. Enough is enough.  

Our hard-of-hearing ruling-elites must understand clearly that deploying soldiers to brutalise civilians  prostitutes the honour of the noble profession of arms - and that the International Criminal Court  (ICC) considers that a crime against humanity, oooo. Yoooooooo...

A quick note to a very, very awkward genuis-inventor friend

Ohooo, wu paaaa. ahhhh, adjawajo. Sarjewah. Ebeiiii. Culture? Culture? Culture? Wow. Massa, please don't talk to me about the cognitive-straightjacket preventing a superstition-riddled continent from reaching its full potential, wai. Hmmm, eyeasem, oooo...

What, pray, dear friend, are mere words, when we are fast-friends trying hard  to get another very, very difficult friend (whose genius we all admire tremendously, and who  will soon  probably become the toast of humanity - for bringing limitless power at precisely the moment it is desperately needed by democracies facing economic meltdown), from being petty? Haaba.

Massa, do you not see the difficulties inflationary pressures are wreaking worldwide,  as a result of sky-rocketing values in the oil sector, resulting from evil Putin's blackmailing?

That  murderous-tyrannical-thief, is  ruining Russia, a great nation, which ought to be a free society and a force for good, by treating it as a personal fiefdom. Has that moron not weaponised gas and oil supplies to Europe,  anaaa? Get real.

And, has that not made your unique emission-free off-grid invention, a much welcomed  and  truly affordable holy-grail-solution,  for freeing the free world (and the rest of humanity) from the iron grip of today's world's  mad-cap-fascist-leaders, like Putin? Think, wai. Haaba.

You also speak about childhood upbringing. Hmmm, eyeasem, oooo: Genius, alas, in my case, as a result of my precociousness, my wide reading as a young  boy, led to my developing genuine compassion, for others in trouble  -  those who desperately need a friend in need, at their hour-of-need:  and thus learnt  never to hold anything against another human being. Simple.

Luckily, too, I am also blessed to have developed into a bad-tempered,  semi-literate fool, totally  devoid of ego (a very, very dangerous ruinious-evil), for whom nothing, not  even murder, cannot occassionally be forgiven, when all circumstances of particular individual cases, are taken into consideration. I thank God Almighty, every day, for that singular gift. Hmmm, eyeasem, oooo..

Massa, we are all mostly-sinful humans, who are just  prisoners of our individual experiences, such as they are,  oooo - not sodden Paragons, wai. So stop acting like some little-person, with a debilitating-giant-chip on his shoulders - when in reality,  you are most probably one of the greatest inventors that ever lived: though yet to be discoverd by humankind.

Finally, always do remember that for me, helping you bring your power sector holy-grail-invention to market - even without personally benefitting from it financially - and even putting my  own (personal and professional)  reputation on the line, in that quest,  in countless published articles, has been the driving-force-motivation for me. I will continue to speak plainly to you,  even at the risk of losing my friendship with you -  if that's the most effective way to get you to remember that you are a  great man and peerless-inventor without equal. Finally, for your information,  cantankerous Kofi Thompson had been ruffling feathers of the  highest-and-mightiest of people, with his plan speaking, since childhood, wai.  Get it? The question to ponder over is: Why do the McDans in our homeland Ghana, not comprehend,  that when our iniquitous system is suddenly up-ended, by the explosion of the ticking-social-time-bomb, we all sit on, so precariously, he, and the other state-capture wheeler-dealer  big-thieves-in-high-places (who are now reaping where they did not sow), will perish: along with the rest of us mere mortals. Furthermore, in any case, at least for now, all that one can do, is to  pray unceasingly, that in the fullness of time, all the indigenous-peoples of the Songhor Lagoon traditional saltwinning villages, will be accorded the full rights, spelt out under the UN Human Rights Conventions,  as they apply to indigenous-peoples worldwide. Yes, Nelson, the cost-of-living crisis, is a continent-wide issue, ooooo, ma danfu papaaabi. And, it requires the creativity of truly-exceptional original-thinkers, really - if we are to overcome that existential-challenge: now facing all democracies across Africa.

Financial news reports, dear reader, have it that the founder of California-domiciled   Patogonia, Yvon Chouinard, has just made the planet Earth, the sole shareholder, of the sports-focused company he founded,  Patogonia. How marvellous. Cool.

It means, more or less, in effect,  that virtually all Patogonia's profits, will go to a charitable trust, the Holdfast Collective, to be used to fund green projects, which help prevent humans from going past the existentially-threatening climate-change-tipping-point-of-no-return.  

One hopes, that, that extraordinary and ground-breaking  common-good-gesture, by Yvon Chouinard, will shame Ghana's cohort of greed-filled professional-enablers: who offer their baleful influence and power, to crooked foreign investors, to rip-off Mother Ghana.

Those despicable and amoral lawyers, accountants and receivers (or deceivers?), who worship Mammon, so,  and sacrifice good people, on their alters-of-avarice, in regular fashion: beavering away, leveraging our entire justice system, to the evil ends that drive them - as they seek to send their personal net worth to stratospheric heights, ought to bow their heads in shame. Full stop.

Time to speak plainly to all Ghana's tribal Chiefs about the peace and stability of the Republic of Ghana

The unedifying-spectacle, dear reader, of human beings carrying their fellow humans, on their heads, in palanquins, at the grounds where traditional festivals take place - as if we are still living in the cruelty and barbarism of the superstition-bedrocked societies of the Dark Ages, when slavery was rife - is very reflective of the hide-bound Chieftaincy institution, which for some in our homeland Ghana, today, is the last bastion of tribal-supremacists, nationwide. Hmmm, ey3nsem piiiiii, oooo, Ghanafuo.

With the greatest respect, who in the Ghana of today, isn't aware that the palaces of Chiefs are the vipers-nests, where secret ritual murders are said to take place, regularly, if bush-telegraph-sources are to be believed, that is? Yoooooo...

Furthermore, what little school pupil, in prinary schools across the length and breadth of our homeland Ghana, doesn't know that egregiously-corrupt Chiefs (and the super-arrogant minion-enablers that surround them and fan their massive and absurdly-brittle-royal-egos), triple-sell and pocket parts of the territorial landmass of the Republic of Ghana, regularly, I ask?

Let us also assume, for argument's sake, that some of the predecessors of the fueding Ga Dangbe Chiefs, and the Asante Chief (apparently delegated by the Kumasihene, to represent him), once upon a time, in the far-distant-past, ruled the entire known world, then, with royal courts unsurpassed in their splendor and magnificence. No problem envisaging that, koraaaa. Cool.

That said, however, there is a rather troubling-question (for those of us who love and treasure Mother Ghana passionately), around the above assumption-for-argument's-sake, to pose to those feuding traditionalists, from Accra and Kumasi, who allegedly nearly came to blows, during the funeral of the late Papa,of Ghana's leading state-capture-wheeler-dealer deal-maker, on the grounds off the forecourt of Parliament House (an appropriate venue: as it is in Parliament where most of the one-sided PPP agreements that have enabled him to amass super-wealth, at our nation's expense, are passed regularly).

As I intimated to you, in our last phone conversation, both Kofi Boakye-Yiadom, and I, are now leaning towards opening up our global networks-of-contacts, for you to leverage.

Your revolutionary, air-cooling-appliance  (suitable nomenclature, deployed to keep ruthless and amoral ruthless-copy-cats, at bay, worldwide!), is an idea whose time has most definitely now come,  in one's humble view.

In light of that, do rest assured that you will be able to have meaningful and productive conversations, with key people in our networks, in the College of Engineering,  at the  Arizona University, and with business development people, at the Wegeningen University and Research Institutes, in the Netherlands.

Simple.

Not being able to successfully find a way through that inpenetrable-maze of deliberate go-and-come-back-again-confusion, might actually very well turn out to be a blessing in disguise for you, if you aren't assisted here, timeously.  

Just focus on the conforting fact that the legacy appliance that your self-powered appliance replaces, has a worldwide market, of over some U.S. $9.2 billion. That's the bottomline-big-picture. Cool

Ghanafuo: How can we have a strong currency?

Absolutely, old chap, you are spot on about cutting-edge-solutions to our national economy's challenges: Yes,  if only our nation's hard-of-hearing ruling-elites would get it, that by incentivising innovators such as   Apostle Kojo Sarfo, for example - to use Ghana Export Import Bank funding to build three mega-factories to produce his marvellous organic foliar growth medium, and his natural pesticides (in mega-factories based  in  southern Ghana, another in the central part of our  country, and the other  in the north), we could actually transform Ghanaian agriculture into a 100 percent organic sector, which contributes to the health and overall well-being, of all Ghanaians.

Trouble is, precious few in our homeland Ghana can see the big-picture-linkages that could exponentially grow our nascent green economy's positive contribution to our GDP,  and strengthen what is a Ghana cedi, now in junk-currency-territory (to our detriment economically), sadly.

Take the cocoa industry for example. One of that critical sector's big-pictures: Why do we not aim to become the world's leading producer of organic cocoa beans, and use that to strike win-win deals with the biggest supermarket chains from the US, Canada, Europe and Asia, to partner cocoa farmers and the COCOBOD,  to add value to cocoa, by manufacturing own-brand  chocolates and other cocoa products, I ask, Naa?

Will that not create wealth that remains locally, and generate meaningful and fulfilling jobs galore, for our younger generations?

Yet another example of positive agrisector big-picture-linkages: Replicating nationwide, the brilliant social impact agripreneur, Issa Ouedraogo's (a genius who is the visionary-founder and 100 percent owner, of the social impact agribusiness, B-BOVID Farms Limited's) empowering climate change resilience smart organic farming initiative.

The question to ponder over is: Has the time not  now come for Ghanaians to understand clearly, that governments-of-the-day, cannot, and must not, continue to pretend to be creators of jobs, koraaa, anaaa? Haaba.
 

Our  hard-of-hearing ruling-elites ought to rather focus on making the private sector the post pandemic era's green economic-pillar, underpinning Ghana's transformation into an equitable and prosperous nation - by regularly   consulting the leading innovative players,  in the private sector, about removing all the bottlenecks preventing them from expanding their businesses, in resilient-fashion: in a world now being impacted by both climate change and worldwide pandemics: something that ought to be obvious, to all Ghanafuo, but isn't,  unfortunately.

Above all, as a wise and aspirational African people, we must end our love of imported goods - and ban all foreign goods that have better quality Ghanaian made substitutes.  Simple.

That, and taking advantage of the tremendous goodwill for Ghana (because of Nkrumah's commitment to the continent while in power), to leverage the African Continental Free Trade Area market (AfCFTA),  is how  we will definitely have a strong currency, oooo, Ghanafuo. Full stop. Yoooooo...

Wake up middle-class America: MAGA is a scam

One is amazed that millions of good and decent-minded, hard-working middle-class Americans, still don't see the existential-threat posed by Trump, to American democracy - and the assurance of continuing to live in a land of freedom, which that system of government assures: when the ordinary citizens of even the world's worst banana republic, would have cottoned on, by now, that Trump (beholden to Russia's security agencies because they have dirt on him to sink him permanently, politically), stole and hid top-secret US secret documents, in his Florida Mar-a-Lago estate, which would have still made him Putin's useful-idiot, even though out of power.

The man was a Russian agent in the Oval Office, for heaven's sake. Wake up, America: a nation that is still the world's greatest power, ever, and most certainly not in need of a narcissistic, tax-dodging pathological-liar and conman, to make - irony of ironies - what is a mighty and already-great-nation, great again. Talk about nonsensical-ubsurdity.

Will Dr. Kwabena Duffur be elected as Ghana's next President in 2024?

There  is not a single creative-thinker, and patriotic Ghanaian, who is also discerning and independent-minded,  living in our homeland Ghana, today, who  does  not take a keen interest in politics.

Such individuals, also support the fight to make the financing  of political parties less opaque, as a way of reducing high-level corruption in our country.  

That is  because they are clear in their minds, that  shinning the spotlight on the financing of political parties, is a very effective way to help the fight to contain the baleful influence, of the powerful big-thieves-in-high-places, who initiate and dominate the state-capture  wheeling-and-dealing, egregiously   milking Mother Ghana dry, even as we speak.

The question to ponder over is: Why does it never occur to the membership of the National Democratic Congress  (NDC), that it will redound to the  longterm future well-being of their party, as a reformed  and transparently-funded political party, if they embraced the idea of setting up a charitable foundation, which  independently and transparently resources the party's  sharp-end-membership, at the (vital-for-victory) grassroots level?

Furthermore, for the sake of the vast  majority of the Ghanaian populace, has the time not now come, for former President Mahama, to help the nation that once gave him the opportunity to lead it, to return that favour? The bald fact, is that former President Mahama is a politician, who can legitimately serve  only one more term, in office, as President, if elected in 2024.

It is thus in that light that one pleads with him, to announce to the world, that he will not stand in the NDC's selection process to choose its presidential candidate, for the 2024 presidential election. He must then go on to tell the world that he will instead throw his weight behind Dr. Duffur, to ensure that the candidate of the  NDC wins that election, and is reelected in the 2028 presidential election, too.

Duffur is by far the most formidable candidate for the NDC. His rectitude, credentials and outstanding  record/legacy, as the best ever finance minister that  Mother Ghana  has ever had, thus far, since we rid our country  of its canny and ruthless  British occupiers, in 1957, will make him unbeatable in the December 2024 presidential election.

That, dear reader, is the  best way for former President Mahama  
to help both Mother Ghana, and the NDC, as an elderly statesman, who will share his rich experience with the next president of Ghana, after the December 2024 presidential election, Dr. Kwabena Duffur.

Ghana's Forestry Commission must act now to stop Akyem Juaso's thriving illegal bushcut chainsaw lumber production, not tomorrow

Ghana's Forestry Commission's top brass, ought to act now, not tomorrow, to stop Akyem Juaso's open-secret: Family members of mine, chief amongst whom is Kwame Thompson, that useless son of my late cousin, Nancy Thompson, who are growing super-rich (by working in tandem with our dismissed - by moi - very, very corrupt and criminally-minded former overseer, Red Awuku, and his thoroughly dishonest and greed-filled family), from leading the thriving illegal bushcut chainsaw lumber production that still goes on, regularly, in our P. E. Thompson family's freehold (bought in 1921 and 1926 for £1,000, and consolidated into one upland evergreen rainforest property, by my late Grandpa, P. E. Thompson Esq., with the concurrence of Nana Ofori-Atta 1 - his close friend, whom he bankrolled generously: to help him educate some of the more than 150 offspring he sired in total).

The question is: Why, for decades now, if there is only one route linking Akyem Juaso to the Accra-Kumasi highway, at Osino Junction, has the Forestry Commission's local officials, and those of the security agencies, still failed to the halt the thriving illegal bushcut chainsaw lumber production, and galamsay, going on in our 14-square mile freehold Akyem Juaso rainforest property, part of which (99.6 acres) actually lies inside the Atewa Forest Reserve, and which in your own Forestry Commission jargon, is referred to as an admitted farm?

We must protect innovative local agrisector entrepreneurs from predatory foreign investors

As a wise and aspirational African people, if we are to have an agricultural sector that enables our nation's system, to  ensure year-round food security, at a time of global climate change, then we must have an agrisector regulatory framework, which protects innovative local farmers with cutting-edge climate-smart-farming ideas,  from predatory foreign investors.

At all costs, we must ensure that no greenwashing-carpetbaggers from outside our borders,  can come into Ghana, and use egregious unethical-tactics, to take over targeted succesful agrisector social impact   businesses.

Our system must always swing into action,  once local social impact businesses notice that foreign investors partnering them, are not guided by an ethical management-ethos, but are rather guided by a strategy that is totally  Machiavelian,  in its execution.

Such buccuneering greenwashers from outside our shores, regularly resort to end-justifies-the-means-criminality, such as communicating falsehood (in serial fashion), to Ghanaian officialdom, fogery and unlawful changes to company registration documents,  at the Registrar General's Department, to name a few of the many sins of their chicanery.

By definition, the company cultures of  genuine social impact investors are underpinned by a global ESG commitment  that makes them  operate ethically in all aspects of their local country operations, worldwide.

It is thus in light of all the above, that one urges the Ghana Bar Association, and other professional bodies,  to warn their memberships of the damage to our national economy, caused by lawyers, accountants,  etc., etc., who form part of the teams of the expensive-to-acquire professionals, who are the  frontline-enablers, leveraging influence-peddling, to navigate their way through the institutional-mazes that together make up our byzantine national  system.

With respect, does that not  amount to aiding and abetting crooked foreign investors to cheat their   local partners? That is  simply not cricket. Enough is enough. We must not allow it to go on. Period. Haaba.

Finally, if we are to have year-round food security, in an era of extreme weather,  then the time has definitely now come for the Ghanaian nation-state, to actively protect innovative local agrisector entrepreneurs, from predatory foreign investors, trying to hijack their businesses. It is those Akyem Chiefs, who are full of cutting-edge ideas (such as the soft-spoken and generous-hearted Gyasehene of Akyem Juaso), who understand clearly that protecting our priceless forests, via conservation-through-ecotourism initiatives, should bedrock the new green economic-pillar, which will create wealth that remains locally, as well as generate meaningful and fulfilling jobs galore, for our younger generations.

That is why it so vital for all Akyems, who think creatively (and thus know that it is only by harnessing the empowering-energies of melting-pot-societies, which will guarantee and make possible, Akyem Abuakwa's transformation into a prosperous traditional area), to keep hammering on the point that the deployment of a lawless land-grabbing-strategy, in the name of Akyem nationalism, will, as sure as day follows night, derail Akyem Abuakwa's destiny as a prosperous traditional area with thriving demographics, across it.

Are verity, speaking-truth-to-power and principle, on a long vacation, in the world of Ghanaian journalism?

Is it indeed the case that yellow journalism, is the distinguishing prevalent-landmark-feature, in Ghana's mainstream media landscape? The irritation felt by some of those who admire Torgbe Afedi (who at a point in time, used to be the Chairperson of Council of State),  for the creativity, nous and gumption that has propelled him into becoming one of the wealthiest businesspersons, in Ghana, shows clearly that to them,  the short answer to that question, is an obvious yes.

That they  bridle at the fact  that their hero, the deservedly well-respected founder of Strategic African Securities  (SAS), and very successful serial-entrepreneur, Torgbe Afedi (who is also the Paramount Chief of the As,ogli Traditional Area, in Ghana's  Volta Region),  has been unfairly at the receiving end, of relentless-criticism, directed at the  person of their hero, by Paul Adom-Otchere, the controversy-plagued host, of Metro TV's current affairs programme, Good Evening Ghana, is crystal clear. Indeed, it is palpable.

Alas, what escapes those in Ghana, who bemoan the lack of balance, in even some of the most reputable mainstream media houses, and the unfortunate prevalence of  mercenary  secret-agenda-hacks (whose yellow journalism  is bedrocked on wealth-creation-for-self, gone bonkers), is that for as long as the  monetisation of Ghanaian politics continues (and fuels the high-level corruption by big-thieves-in-high-places, which is holding back the transformation of our homeland Ghana, into a prosperous and equitable African society, in which all demographics thrive), unfortunately,  yellow journalism, the shameless handmaiden of off-ledger-funded politics, will continue. Simple.

The bald truth, is that yellow journalism will only wane, and finally end, in Ghana, when a new law is passed by Parliament - when  there is a national consensus, that the Ghanaian nation-state state, ought  to fund the entirerity of the nationwide operations  of  our country's political parties, that is.

Those new public funding laws,  for political parties,  must come with  strict rules, on required-qualifying-criteria, for the formation of such  parties. That is vital. Until that comes to pass, alas, verity, boldly-speaking-truth-to-power and principle, will continue to be on a long vacation, in the murky world of Ghana's thriving  yellow-journalism-sub-sector. The Atewa Forest Reserve must not be sacrifed on alter of corporate greed

President Akufo-Addo needs to get this: the protection and preservation of the Atewa Forest Reserve, by banning all mining in it, is a top-priority national security issue, which might result in abrupt regime-change, if the President fails to declare it a national park, oooo.

We must all  be clear about this: The well-being of millions, and the safety of our Republic, is no joking matter, to be toyed with, by unimaginative and shortsighted politicians, on the make, and on the take. No. No. No.

The Atewa Forest Reserve, a watershed area for three major river systems  (the Birim, the Ayensu and the Densu rivers), which are all sourced for treating and distributing potable water,by the  to over 5 million people, across southern Ghana, is also part of the Atewa Range, designated a Globally Significant Biodiversity Area (GSBA). It cannot, and ought not, to be sacrifed, on the alter of unfathomable  corporate greed, without serious nrepercussions, oooo, Ghanafuo. Yooooooo...

The AfDB and Banque Edmond de Rothschild Group must stop Moringa from hijacking B-BOVID from Issa Ouedraogo now

Issa Ouedraogo,  a pioneer Ghanaian green  agrisector social impact entrepreneur,  will soon be launching a conservation-through-ecotourism venture, based on a unique and  change-making agroforestry initiative, of his, which  has been in the making, for nearly 18 years now.

How ironical that the washed-out and clueless racist French nationals running Moringa in Ghana, think they are smarter than a public-spirited, generous-hearted and  innovative Ghanaian farmer, whose life's work they seek to purloin - with the help of selfish greed-filled Ghanaian professionals: who ought to know better.  Ebeiiii.

The question for Ghanaians to ponder over is:  Just how many tree seedlings have Moringa distributed, to help the smallholder oil palm farmer-stakeholders in B--BOVID's value-chain to diversify their income streams and bootstrap their way to financial independence, thus far, even  as we speak? Surely, officials of the AfDB Group, and the Banque Edmond de Rothschild Group, ought to come to Ghana, now, to see things on the ground, at Takoradi, for themselves  - where they will come to realise,  to their chagrin and shame,  what a huge error of judgment they made, in opting to support Moringa - by silently looking on, as they sought to rob B-BOVID, in broad daylight,  from its brilliant and super-creative founder, Issa Ouedraogo. A quick note sent to a dear friend recently: "Not needed at the moment. Costs a bomb now - over GHc200 to refill. Imagine that. Hmmm, ey3nsem piiiiii, oooo, Massa. The cost of living crisis is a nightmare for nearly all humans, everywhere on the surface of the planet Earth, today. Full stop."


In today's Ghana, local reputable manufacturers of world-class quality products, ditto organically grown agricultural produce, and smart entrepreneurs who are exporters of such made-in-Ghana items, are the lucky private sector players, who will thrive the most. Export. Export. Export. That's the smart path for our private sector to truly become our national economy's engine of growth, and send our GDP, north, stratospherically, pronto.


Incidentally, isn't it amazing that the Ghana Union of Traders' Association (GUTA) - amongst whose fold, are the super-wealthy fatcat-kingping importers, who are major contributors to the free fall of the Ghans cedi, and lack of meaningful jobs for young people across our homeland Ghana - have the nerve to regularly blackmail governments-of-the-day, which they always blame (hypocritically), for the free fall of the Ghana cedI that some now refer to as a junk currency?


Truth be told, as a wise and aspirational African people, it is our foolish nation-wrecking preference for foreign made goods (that have better locally made substitutes), which will always be the root cause of the trade imbalances that make our currency more or less worthless, oooo, Ghanafuo. Ghanaians: Constructive criticism offering alternative creative-solutions is best nation-building path to tread on

That Ghana's economy is in dire straits is not in dispute. However, despite the grim situation Mother Ghana now faces, it is vital, as a wise and aspirational African people, that we never forget the indisputable-fact that we actually have what it takes, to recover from the situation of near-bankruptcy, now plaguing us, and return our beloved country to a path that will lead our homeland Ghana, to eventually become a prosperous and equitable society, in which all demographics live well, within a decade.


No one, who comes to Ghana, from overseas, will fail to notice the many pluses we are blessed with, chief amongst which, is the boundless energy, creativity and positive work ethic of tens of thousands of the world-class middle-class solid-achievers, in all spheres of our national life, who have managed to make a difference for this beautiful and welcoming nation, full of warm-hearted and generous-spirited people.


If we are to harness the nous and gumption that drIves the successes of our nation's world-class solid-achievers, for the transformation of our country into a prosperous and equitable society, then we will have to end the national malaise of endless criticism without proffering creative alternative solutions, when speaking truth to power, on all issues of concern to ordinary people's well-being, across our country.


Le us start off, by remembering that power inevitably corrupts most of those who weild it, and that we must therefor remain eternally vigilant, in ensuring that state-capture for private profits, at society's expense, is kept to the barest minimum (humanly possible), by constantly demanding transparency, and accountability, from those we elect to govern our country, and the senior career public officials, paid well by taxpayers, to advise our elected leaders.


The more responsible sections of Ghana's mainstream media, have an important role in the process of transforming Ghana into a prosperous and equitable society. They must ensure, at all material times, that their platforms are bedrocked on balanced reporting, fairness and pursuit of the common-good - by refusing to allow themselves to serve as platforms for pushing the secret agendas of the powerful individuals benefiting from state-capture profiting private pockets, at society's expense. Above all, they must focus on encouraging their platforms for the public airing abd dissemination of constructive criticism that offers alternative-solutions to policies that don't redound to the benefit of ordinary people across Ghana.


Finally, dear reader, the bald truth we must acknowledge as a wise and aspirational African people, is that there really is no substitute, to constructive criticism proffering alternative creative-soluti when speaking truth to power: it is most definitely the best nation-building path to tread on, for the process of transforming Ghana into a prosperous and equitable society. Ghana is a civilised nation, so blessed with natural resources, and a higly intelligent, tolerant, welcoming and hardworking aspirational-population, that it should never be poor. It is scandalous that over six decades after ridding our country of its British occupiers, in 1957, we have now ended up as a debt-distressed nation that might default on interest payments, to creditors, because our country's massive debt mountain has now reached stratospheric heights.


It is totally unacceptable that in the midst of plentiful natural resources, millions still remain marginalised. Meanwhile, a powerful and greedy few, elected to transform society (by successfully lifting base-of-the-pyramid demographics, out of the brutish-hellish-trap of extreme poverty, through the creation of empowering initiatives that enable the poor to bootstrap their own way to financial independence), abuse their positions in egregious fashion. Disgraceful. Monstrous. Unspeakable. Unpardonable. Abominable.


If our criminal justice system is still punishing those who steal pitifully small amounts, in value, of foodstuffs, mostly because they are starving, and without jobs, by jailing them in droves, then, henceforth, it must also begin to investigate, prosecute and jail the big-thieves-in-high-places, and their regime-crony-collaborators, who have pocketed trillions of cedis, in state-capture deal, after state-capture deal, at Mother Ghana's expense. If that doesn't happen, the ticking social-time-bomb, will explode with devastating consequences. Enough is enough, oooo. Yoooooo...

Pass draconian laws to protect IPRs of those submitting innovative project proposals to government - from crooked insider-dealing public officials

There is consensus, globally, that innovation is the key to unlocking transformational-societal-change, which  leads to the prosperity of nations, worldwide.

In light of that, obviously, it   follows, a priori, that  innovation is what will eventually dig Mother Ghana, out of the massive slippery-walled-hole, which Ghana's  greedy big-thieves-in-high-places,  have pushed her into. Hmmm, ey3nsem, piiiiii, oooo,  Ghanafuo.

To  incentivise innovative Ghanaians to continue to submit innovative project proposals, to governments of the day, clearly, as a matter of some urgency, draconian new laws ought to be passed, by Parliament,  to protect the intellectual property rights  (IPRs), of all innovative Ghanaians, who submit project proposals to the public sector, of our national economy.  Full stop. The theft of the IPRs of creative Ghanaians, by our public officials, who collaborate with  those who stalk the corridors of power specifically for that purpose  (regardless of whichever of the parties that constitute the  NPP/NDC duopoly - which  have had an iron grip, on all aspects of  our national  life  -  throughout the life of the 4th Republic, thus far), has made many, many creative individuals rather wary of submitting innovative and change-making proposals, to governments of the day, unfortunately.

That is why some of us are now calling for draconian new laws to be passed, swiftly, by Parliament, to protect the IPRs, of all those submitting project proposals to governments of the day (from our notorious crooked  insider-dealing public officials). Why we must only welcome ethical investors committed to ESG principles in their operations across Ghana

One of the ways Ghana's private sector could make a difference in the living standards of all those they employ, dear reader, is for our system to allow only foreign investors who are committed to ESG principles, in all aspects of their operations, to establish a presence in Ghana. Simple.


It is outrageous that as a result of the greed of the big-thieves-in-high-places (whose unfathomable greed is slowly destroying our nation, and Ghanaian democracy, along with it), employment agencies (invariably owned by regime-crony-tycoons), are contracted to provide workers to foreign investors working in our country - who then proceed to take huge contract sums, for supplying workers, paid peanuts (by the simple ruse of making them work as casual labourers: when in reality they are permanent workers, in all but name). That must cease forthwith, oooo, Ghanafuo. Yooooooo...


An example of the type of callous and unethical foreign investors that Mother Ghana doesn't need, and can definitely do without, is Moringa. Moringa's reps in Ghana are shameless ace-liars, and greed-filled greenwashing-carpetbaggers, from France. Shame on them.  


Genuine and honest social impact investors maintain a company culture bedrocked on strict adherence to ESG principles in all markets they operate in worldwide, oooo, Massa.


For the information of those washed-out French incompetents, the gathered-incontrovertible-evidence of their endless criminality, and serial-falsehoods communicated to Ghanaian officialdom, awaits them, as we move the case back to the law courts - where such matters are adjudicated: not at the Ghana Arbitration Centre (GAC), which quite rightly leaves all issues of corporate criminality, to the law courts to resolve in open court. Simple.

How President Akufo-Addo can reset Ghana successfully - now, not tomorrow

Interesting times, indeed, in today's Ghana. Long before it became fashionable (as it now is), some of us wrote and published countless articles,  demanding (yonks ago), that if President Akufo-Addo wanted to leave a legacy that he deserves, then it was vital that he appoints, as ambassadors, Nana Asante Bediatuo, Yaw Osafo Marfo, Ken Ofori-Atta and Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, to go and represent Ghana, abroad, asap.

They will all make excellent envoys for our country. In one's humble view, that would  immediately free the President, of their baleful influence, once and for all. Luckily for the enterprise Ghana,  as we speak,today,  many more voices are being heard across the nation, all of them also asking for those who currently  manage our national economy, to be replaced immediately, by President Akufo-Addo.

We are grateful to God Almighty, for such a small-mercy intervention, paaapa, oooo, are we not, anaaaa, Ghanafuo?In light of all the above, the question a wise  and aspirational African people, like Ghanaians, ought to ponder over is: Can Akoto Ampah, that fine legal mind,  not replace Nana Asante Bediatuo, at the presidency,  as the new Executive Secretary to the President -  with Dr. Thomas Mensah, of NASA-fame, serving his native country, as the new Chief of Staff?

Furthermore, could the brilliant generational-thinker (and  Kasapreko Ghana Limited's founder), Dr. Kwabena Adjei, not replace Yaw Osafo Marfo, as senior presidential adviser? Ditto Dr. Kofi Amoah (Citizen Kofi), replace Ken Ofori-Atta, as our new finance minister, and,  the principled and erudite  Kwabena Adjapong, whom,  at a point in time, once served as the ruling New Patriotic Party's General Secretary (until his removal was engineered by those who envied him, and feared his independence of thought, as well as his  incisive and innovative mind), not also  replace Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, as a selfless, well-meaning and patriotic confidant, of the President's?

Finally, dear reader, at day's end, above all, as a super-competent inner-circle  team around President Akufo-Addo, surely they  could all work together to help the President to reset Ghana, successfully, anaaaa, oooo, Ghanafuo, could they not? May Donald Trump be the last totally unfit and undeserving individual to seek the American presidency

No one who has studied the rise to power, of fascist leaders such as Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini, will fail to see the same phenomen at work, today, too, across what is the world's most powerful and prosperous nation, the United States of America.

The tragedy for the world's mightiest ever military power, yet, is that Donald Trump, a cowardly conman who is also an amoral-narcissist and pathological-liar, somehow has a hold on millions of decent-minded U.S. citizens, who, as sure as day follows night, will come to rue ever supporting him, in the fullness of time. No question.

It is in that light, that one makes bold to predict that - once installed in power, courtesy the rigging-machine now being put in place, methodically, across America, by Trump and his enablers, to guarantee a Trump second-coming - immediately  after Trump's capricious tyranny successfully  consolidates its power, he will then set out to destroy all his elite-enablers, one after the other: following which he will focus on terrorising his MAGA base, whom he will start referring to, as losers and deplorable-despicables, as they protest and try to resist being deprived of their constitutionally guaranteed rights.

Above all, just like Hitler and Mussolini, before him, Trump too will come to a dreadful and ignoble end. Never has so an unfit and totally undeserving individual, sought, and won, the presidency of America. May he be the very  last one to ever do so again. Enough really is enough, in his case.

Kibi Goldfields: New Chiefs' palaces great - but empower local youth with alternative livelihood skills courses too to incentivise them to protect forests

 Kibi Goldfields has built a befitting palace for the Odikro of Akyem Juaso. Whoever succeeds the late Barimah Kofi Osei (who had been Akyem Abuakwa's longest serving Chief, when he died in harness, as Akyem Juaso's Odikro), will be the first occupant of that marvellous palace. Bravo to Kibi Goldfields. We the ordinary community members, express our gratitude to that gold mining company.

Yet another stakeholder-benefit that will redound to the benefit of local youth, in the fringe-forest cocoa farming communities of Akyem Juaso,  Akyem Saamang and Osino, would be for Kibi Goldfields to pay for community forest guards, all of whom it must sponsor to attend alternative  livelihood skills development courses (such as snail farming, mushroom farming, the  rearing of giant rabbits and  grasscutters).

By paying the Forest Research Institute (FRI), of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), for example, to provide young people in the three aforementioned fringe-forest communities, with such alternative livelihood skills courses, Kibi  Goldfields, will in effect, be empowering local youth to bootstrap their way out of the brutish-hellish-trap of extreme rural poverty.

The lack of economic opportunities for the younger generations, blights life in  most of Akyem Juaso, Akyem Saamang and Osino, and has led to  the growing incidence of criminality  (which the rampant and egregious forest-illegalities, such as bushcut chainsaw lumber production, and galamsay,  represent), today.

Above all, Kibi Goldfields must move swiftly, to begin a company-sponsored smallholder agroforestry initiative, which (aside from the planting of tree-seedlings to replace trees felled by the bushcut chainsaw lumber producers), will also  enable community industrial hemp plantations to be developed, on parts of its concession's mined-out zones, which must by law be reclaimed,  and returned, to the original owners (reason for that choice being that the industrial hemp will detoxify such mined out areas, naturally).

So, yes, the building of splendid new Chiefs' palaces by  Kibi Goldfields, is great - but empowering local youth with altenative livelihood skills courses,  to bootstrap their way out of the trap of extreme rural poverty, to better futures, is by far the best way to incentivise fringe-forest comunities to protect the remainder of Akyem Abuakwa's forested areas, for future generations.

Minister for Lands and Natural Resources: Take swift action to force the Forestry Commission to halt Akyem Juaso's thriving bushcut lumber production

The time has now come for the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Hon. Samuel Abu Jinapor,  to force the Forestry Commission to take swift action to end Akyem Juaso's thriving illegal bushcut lumber production industry.


The question is: How come that for decades now, the criminal elements in what is a small fringe-forest cocoa-farming community, with only one route connecting it to the towns of Akyem Saamang and Osino, to join the Accra-Kumasi highway at Osino Junction, consistently evacuate bushcut chainsaw lumber that they produce mostly at night (allegedly mainly from the 14-square mile privately owned freehold upland evergreen rainforest property of the P. E. Thompson family), successfully, consignment after consignment, without their ever being arrested, prosecuted and jailed, thus far?


Furthermore, who are the masterminds behind it? Are they untouchable? Or are local Forestry Commission officials benefitting from this egregious gang-rape of a rainforest property that is part of an area in the Atewa Range designated as a Globally Significant Biodiversity Area (GSBA)?


Finally, even as we speak, the bushcut chainsaw lumber producers are hard at work in the P. E. Thompson estate's upland evergreen rainforest property, and apparently have consignments ready for market. Hon. Samuel A. Jinapor, please act now - and force the   Forestry Commission to take immediate action to stop this brutal gang-rape of Mother Nature at a time when climate change is impacting rural Ghana so negatively. Haaba.

A quick note to Kofi Boakye-Yiadom - on why there is no place like Ghana on the surface of the planet Earth

One gathers, from bush telegraph sources, that you are contemplating moving to  Rwanda to live.  Sure, it is a well-ordered society now. Question is: What happens when its widely-acclaimed leader's alloted timespan on this plane, finally ends (as it will for all humans presently alive)?

But, this is nation in which those of us who fear no one, and speak our minds freely to the powers that be (regardless of what our leaders in governments of the day,  threaten us with),  know that if we are careful enough about our personal security, at day's end, we will not be murdered, oooo, favourite nephew.  Can't say that about many nations on the continent of Africa, ooooo.

And, as it happens,  don't  you live like the king-of-hedonism, that  your substantial earnings from your innovative green entrepreneurship, have turned  you into, without a care in the world? That's pretty cool, wai,  Massa.

Furthermore, who in this country, who is an environmental activist, isn't aware of your  penchant for playing as  hard as you work: boggying, partying, chilling endlessly,  and,  cycling across Ghana, winning road race after road race - with  all the  said activities strictly reserved for the hours after imbibing the daily dose of your legendary focused-hardwork, delivering adventure park experiences, for thousands? That is impactful impirical evidence proving that saving nature can be financially rewarding (and gives mental freedom paaaaapabi, to boot, too, wai). Cool.  

Massa, there is no place, quite like Ghana,  anywhere, on the surface of the  planet Earth oooo - despite its many frustrations, wai.  Yoooooo...

How can America become an even greater nation, an unrivalled superpower and unequalled global economic-giant?

For those of us who respect and admire America's democratic system of government, from afar, Donald Trump's unsuitability, for occupying the office of President and Commander-in-Chief, of even the world's worst banana republic, let alone that of the United States of America, is so obvious.  One therfore never ceases to be amazed that so many good and decent American conservatives, actually hero-worship Trump. Incredible. 

The tragedy of it all, is that soon after Trump's second-coming, as President, finally arrives, and his fascist-dictatorship consolidates its power,  tens of million of millions of his most ardent MAGA adherents, will quickly become disillusioned - as his capricious tyranny starts repressing and terrorising ordinary people, after gobbling up Trump's most vociferous elite-enablers, who made his second bid for power a success.

It is at that terrifying juncture,  that most of Trump's acolytes  will wake up to the harsh reality that they exchanged rule by politicians committed to the good governance principle of fidelity to the Constitution, for a precarious and frightening existence, in their own home country - because they made a fatal error of judgement, in opting to freely  hero-worship a gross, capricious,  narcissist and  tyrannical fascist leader,  who thinks he is above the law.

It will be too late then, of course, for them to do anything about their situation, alas.  That is why it is vital that the born-again-Christian demographic, across America, look instead, to the genuine and sincere politicians for whom an America whose politics is bedrocked  on the constitutional principle, of separation of powers, is a patriotic duty and a moral obligation.  

They must all understand clearly, that far from being the saviour who will make America (a nation that is already the world's greatest ever power), great again, Donald Trump is rather a clear and present danger to  American democracy, who must never be allowed to return to office, again, as America's next President, and Commander-in-Chief, of it powerful armed forces,  after President Joe Biden's term ends,  at all costs.

America does not need Trump to lead it ever again - for it  is already a great nation. Full stop. In the final analysis, the United States of America is in reality, the world's  greatest nation ever. 

 

In that light, it is widely recognised by its many admirers, as a wealthy and prosperous country, which only needs to improve its system  -  in order to make it a more equitable and diverse society, able to harness the energies, gifts and talents, of a significant proportion of its total population, who currently face systemic-prejudice on account of their skin-hue: and thereby become an even greater nation, which is an unrivalled superpower, as well as an unequalled global economic-giant. Case closed. Cool.

The world ought to commend China's wise leaders for not escalating the stand off over Nancy Pelosi's Taiwan visit beyond bellicose rhetoric

Many around the world, heaved a sigh of relief, that the tension that preceded the Taiwan visit by House Speaker,  Nancy Pelosi (now safely out of Taiwan and headed for Japan her next stop in her  trip to the Asia Pacific region),  was not escalated beyond bellicose-rhetoric.



Clearly,  China's ever-wise and mature leaders (who have seen and obviously  learnt lessons,   from the disaster wrought by modern wars: in the example of the foolish and ill-judged invasion of Ukrainian territory, by the shortsighted and narrow minded ruthless-tyrannical-kleptocrats, who currently lead Russia), merely wanted to try it on, so to speak, and had all along decided to refrain from attacking Taiwan.

The West ought to be equally wise, and super-intelligent, about not doing anything that will result in the destabilisation of  a huge and important power, on which virtually the whole world depends on, for all kinds of products, like China. Chaos in China will be disastrous for the smooth running of global supply chains, across sundry industries, in the extreme.

In the long run,  democracy will triumph over autocracy,  for the simple reason that regardless of race, the yearning for individual freedom,  and life in free societies bedrocked on the rule of law,  not  on the whims and caprices of mentally unstable despots, of Putin's ilk, beats in the hearts of all humans (and is wired into human DNA), worldwide. In the meantime,  nothing must done by the West that will result in widespread  civil strife in a China in which law and order breaks down (perish the thought).

Whatever its sins, the Chinese Communist Party deserves the respect of the world, for lifting tens of millions out of extreme poverty,  and propelling their nation into a mighty industrial power, which acts as an engine for global growth.

Perhaps, in the final analysis, eventually, China will make Taiwan, part of new federal state,  where those in the mainland who don't like to live in a country run by communists, can go to live permanently. Above all, the whole world ought to commend China's leaders for their wisdom in opting not to escalate the stand off, with the U.S., over Nancy Pelosi's Taiwan visit, beyond their  bellicose rhetoric. Brilliant strategy.  Cool.
