Tesla is gearing up for the long-awaited release of its electric ute next week, registering the name “Cybrtrk” and “Cybertruck”, and redirecting the website address cybrtrk.com to its main website.
in the lead up to the unveil of its all-electric pickup (aka ute) next Thursday November 21, 2019.
Many customers have already received invitations to the unveil of its all-electric pickup (aka ute) next Thursday November 21, and it is understood that it is already booked out.
The unveil of the “cyber-truck”, as CEO and co-founder Elon Musk has dubbed his pet project, has been awaited since Musk first started musing on what form it might take in July 2018.
From being touted as a “cyberpunk” design referencing sci-fi cult film Bladerunner to an “armored personnel carrier from the future“, Musk’s Cybertruck has had artists and fans intently creating their own wild versions of what the electric ute may look like.
But none have come close, Musk said on Twitter in October.
All the public has seen of the Cybertruck to date is an angular teaser image which was flashed during the unveil of the Model Y electric SUV in March.
The unveil of the Cyber-truck will continue the positive news for the company, which a year ago faced the massive challenge of ramping up Model 3 production amid a sprawling social media campaign by short-sellers and naysayers.
Tesls last month announced strong results for the third quarter, leading to some financial firms to scrap short positions and helping  the share prices soar to $US350 ($A442).
The company has also gained approval to begin production of the best-selling Model 3 in Shanghai, won an award from the German Golden Steering Wheels award for best medium sized car, and announced a fourth Gigafactory in Germany’s Berlin.
