Kevin Hassett, Trump’s top economist, to leave White House
By Washington Post Staff
June 2 at 10:00 PM
Hassett, a longtime conservative economist who has served as chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers since September 2017, is departing, President Trump said in a tweet Sunday night.
Trump tweeted that Hassett, who has forged a relatively independent reputation in the White House, did a “great job,” adding that he will announce a replacement after he returns from Europe.
This is a developing story. It will be updated.
