We Did Not Elect President Akufo-Addo To Enable Some In His Inner-Circle To Chop-Ghana-Small

Painful though it is for me - because I do know that President Akufo-Addo actually came to serve the people of Ghana, not to steal from them - the alleged arrest of the President of the Association of Concerned Small-Scale Gold Miners (apparently because they had arranged a press conference, to expose wrong-doing in the mining sector, by big-people), are the kind of arrogant power-drunk, and abominable-undemocratic-actions, which some of those in his inner-circle resort to, to silence their critics that have made some of us vow to punish all of them, by working for their defeat, in the decisive December 2020 presidential and parliamentary elections. Yabr3. Who born dog? Haaba.

How dare they carry on as if they owned our country, and we were their serfs, I ask, dear reader? Why can't they do some lateral thinking, for a change, and take advantage of the Chinese government's policy of encouraging their citizens to invest in gold jewelry, and gold bars, and turn Ghana into their biggest market for same, using the Precious Minerals Marketing Company (PMMC), I ask?

Will that not bring in tens of millions of wealthy Chinese citizens, into our country, as eager tourists, here, to shop for unique pure gold jewellery, and Adinkra-embossed credit-card-sized gold bars, and help create an outbound tourism market in Ghana, for China's tourism sector, and ours?

So, why are we still insisting on allowing ruthless semi-literate Chinese villagers, looking for their main-chance, to come and destroy our priceless natural capital (that is so vital, in an era of serial-pandemics, for public-health-reasons), and help sundry carpetbaggers to regularly smuggle over U.S.$2 billion worth of gold, on top of that, without our country benefiting in any shape or form, from that? Are we so blind, and so foolish? Haaba.

The question is: Why have those too-clever-by-half geniuses, forgotten so soon, that the main reason they were elected (by an overwhelming number of voters), was essentially because we all believed that they would actually end high-level corruption in our country, and run the national economy, in the national interest, for the benefit of all our people, rich and poor alike? Lying hypocrites forever quoting the Holy Bible to hide their devilish plans. Is that not how we were tricked into letting go of our golden share, in Ashanti Goldfields, during the takeover by AngloGold, with their vain sugar-coated-promises?

President Akufo-Addo has fulfilled his personal ambition to lead Ghana, and those of us who like him, on a purely human level, and admire his tenacity of purpose, which made him finally achieve his main life-goal, are happy for him that God Almighty made that possible, after two consecutive painful-defeats. Alas, recent events have now convinced some of us that he ought to retire.

His legacy, such as it is, is pretty impressive, and will doubtless lay the foundation for a prosperous future, for our ambitious and hardworking younger generations. Ghana is not for sale, wai.

Sadly, we need to rid our country of his arrogant family members, and their greed-filled amoral regime-cronies, who are engaged in the most outrageous state-capture abuse-of-power, ever seen in the annals of the entire history, of our country, since independence in 1957.

Why should we vote them back to power again, to enable them continue engaging in yet more asset-stripping, of the enterprise Ghana - which is why they must be turfed out of power, to save Mother Ghana from their callous and brutal gang-raping. Yabr3. Haaba.

We most certainly did not elect President Akufo-Addo to power, in order to allow a few well-connected private individuals, and highly-placed government members, in his inner-circle, to come and also engage in such Chop-Ghana-Small asset-stripping, ooooo. No. No. No. Enough is enough. Haaba. Hmmmm, Oman Ghana, eyeasem, ooooo - enti yewieye paaa enei? Asem kesie ebeba debi ankasa, ooooo. Yoooooo...

Now We Can Clearly See The Difference Between President Nkrumah And His Detractors - Past And Present

What, dear reader,  is the difference, if any,  between President Nkrumah,  and, his present and past detractors? Nkrumah was a commited  Pan-Africanist -  who saw Ghanaians as one people, who were citizens of a modern  African nation. He was a sincere and selfless leader,  who always acted in the national interest - which to him was whatever promoted and secured the welfare of ordinary people. Always.

The perfidious-crowd that always denigrated his achievements, on the other hand, were always in politics to lord it over ordinary people, whom they despised, and, most important of all, for them,  gain power, to enable them fill their pockets, by stealth, at the expense of the Ghanaian masses.

The real truth, is that Dr. J. B. Danquah was a tribal-supremacist, and a paid agent, of at least one foreign intelligence agency, the CIA, who was in politics to gain control of the nation, and benefit personally from that, financially. Money was the most important motivating-factor, him.

That Akyem ruling-élite-money-grabbing,  is what went on at Akyem Abuakwa, under Nana Ofori-Atta1, and led to the gruesome  murder of Nana Akyea Mensah, the Odikro of Akyem Apedwa, who threatened to reveal the scale of corruption that had gone on, during the late Okyenhene, Nana Ofori-Atta 1's rule. Ditto warned that selfsame ruthless Akyem  ruling-élite,  against ritual murder, in connection with the funeral and burial of the late Okyenhene. That worsened his case - and, in the end, cost him his life.

Nothing has changed. Today, we have allowed  the Atewa Forest Reserve  to be given to the Chinese, to destroy, to gain access to the bauxite deposits there - a senseless and reckless-shortsighted-decision, which is also a crime-against-humanity that will destroy the watershed for three major river systems (the Birim, the Densu and the Ayensu rivers), from which the treated water supply of over 5 million Ghanaians, are sourced. Incredible.

To add insult to that egregious-injury, today's Akyem tribal-supremacist leaders, having won power, now seek to gain perpetual control of our nation's gold royalties, using an offshore special purpose vehicle, domiciled in the British Crown Dependency, of Jersey, in the Channel Islands off Britain's southern coast. It is instructive that it matters not a whit to them that they are ruining the legacy of the first elected Ghanaian leader from Akyem Abuakwa, with their greed. What perfidy.

The question is: What moral right do such avaricious and selfish people, have, to try and belittle the achievements of President Nkrumah - whose selflessness while leading Ghana, is evidenced by the fact that he died a pauper, with no property of his own: but nonetheless  succeeded  in creating a modern African  nation:  with factories and other state-owned commercial assets, nationwide,  to create jobs for his people. Massa, the difference is crystal-clear, wai.  Hmmmm, Oman Ghana eyeasem, ooooo - enti yewieye paaa enei? Asem kesie ebeba debi ankasa. Yoooooo...

All Those Backstabbing President Akufo-Addo And Gang-Raping Mother Ghana Will Pay Dearly For Their Greed

It is  extraordinary that some of our ruling-élites still take it for granted, that Ghanaian democracy,  is safe and secure, from the kind of upheaval which could end up, with the same gruesome-outcome that resulted in the events culminating in the execution of a number of military generals,  and senior officers, in 1976. Yoooooo...

Do they not understand  that a  monkey-dey-work-baboon-dey-chop-democracy, is akin to a fine-structure, built on quicksand, anaaaaa?  How extraordinary.

The question we must all ponder over is: Why are so many  intelligent men and women, voted into power to put an end to a regime that gained notoriety as a corruption-riddled government-of-friends-and-favoured-families, keeping silent, when the selfsame crime-against-the-masses, is being repeated by some of their ruling party's  members? Yoooooo...

It is in light of that aberration that we must situate the exemplary example of Ghana's present Attorney General, Hon. Gloria Akufo.
She has demonstrated, in advising against the Agyapaapabi-Assaseyaa-Jersey-capper, tenacity and determination, to be truthful, in serving the Ghanaian nation-state, faithfully.  Bravo to her.

Clearly, she is a  principled politician, who refuses to be used by thieves-in-high-places. Her name will be written in letters-of-gold, when the history of this shameful period, in our chequered history, is written. Hon. Gloria Akufo, wu ye bue, ankasa!

Ohemaa paaapabi,  may God Almighty bless and protect you, always. Ghanaians thank you from the bottom of their hearts.

Now we are finally seeing the true colours of the hypocritical wolves-in-sheep's-clothing, who, only yesterday, were busy calling President John Dramani Mahama a thief, who had to be booted out of office, for running a government of family and friends.

Yet, not even John Mahama, and his family and friends, would have been this audacious.  There will be consequences for what is now going on, in the asset-stripping of the enterprise Ghana, some day.  For sure. Those involved in it, are the backstabbing-blackguards, busy destroying the honest and well-meaning President Akufo-Addo's legacy, such as it is, with the unfathomable-greed that drives them. Pity.

We will teach them a lesson one fine day. For sure. They will smell pepper, ankasa.  And that is a promise,  not a threat. All those backstabbing President Akufo-Addo,  and brutally gang-raping Mother Ghana,  today, will pay dearly for their greed. Hmmmm, Oman Ghana, eyeasem, ooooo - enti, yewieye paaa, enei? Asem kesie ebeba debi ankasa! Yooooo...

Let Us Rid Ghana Of The Baleful Influence Of The Tribal-Hegemonists - Who Were Behind The Offshore Agyapa-Assase-Scandal

Recent events have demonstrated, clearly, why the more responsible sections of the Ghanaian media, ought to act proactively,  to protect the peace and stability of  our dear nation - from the wiles of the tribal-hegemonists in our midst: who constantly seek the dominance of particular ethnic groupings, which they hail from, over all the other ethnic groups that make up our united-nation-of-diverse-ethnicity, the Republic of Ghana.

Being of Akan heritage, myself, it saddens me no end,  that one of the worst of Ghana's tribal-supremacist politicians, is a fellow Akan, Hon. Yaw   Osafo Marfo. He is  a very, very tribalistic high-ranking  Akan, who, had Ghana been a serious nation, would never have been allowed to remain influential,  in Ghanaian politics, by the media, after his scandalous Koforidua secretly-recorded   conversation, came to light. For the uninitiated,  he is an  African equivalent of a U.S. Klu Klux Klan Grand Wizard.

The question is:  After the Koforidua secretly-recorded-conversations scandal - in which Yaw Osafo was heard stating boldly that in no nation in the world, did those who owned the country's natural resources, not dominate their society, except Ghana - how  did it come about that the media gave him a free pass, which has allowed him to wind up in such a powerful position, as Senior Minister? Haaba. Hmmm, eyeasem,  ooooo.

That, I humbly submit, dear reader, is the main reason why Yaw Osafo Marfo and his tribalistic and delusional-acolytes (sly individuals,  whose mad-cap arrogant-beliefs, in Akan-tribal-exceptionalism, has been the driving force, throughout their own  personal-journies-through-life experiences), used  the extensive powers, of the Leviathan, which is the Ghanaian nation-state, to cook up the Agyapaapabi-Assaseyaa-Offshore-deal, using the British Crown Dependency of Jersey, in the Channel Islands off Britain's southern coast, to enable them benefit perpetually, at arms-length, from Ghana's gold and other mineral deposits, till Kingdom come.  Amazing.

As a wise and aspirational people, it is imperative that the good people of Ghana  rid ourselves of their greed-filled regime (which clearly came to power, with a well-hidden, secret Akan tribal-supremacist strategic-domination agenda), before they  imperil and permanently damage, the  cohesion and unity, of our homeland Ghana. Let us be clear about this: In modern-day 21st century Africa, no tribe is superior or inferior to another. Enough is enough. Haaba.  Eeiiii, Oman Ghana, eyeasem, ooooo. Enti yewieye paaa enei? Asem kesie ebebai debi ankasa, ooooo. Hmmmm. Yooooooo...

To The Clever-Cynics Who Know the Price Of Everything - But Are Clueless About The Worth And Value Of Ghana's Natural Capital

Mr. Kweku Bio, alas, it  has always been the case, in human history. Unfortunately, the truly farsighted, are aften alone, in fighting the common-good-causes, which they believe in, and drive them to speak out, boldly, when even the supposedly-wise, choose to remain silent,  wai. However, I don't blame you, at all, koraaaa. Hmmmm, God Almighty, please  give us patience,  waI.

As it happens,  today, we have super-cynical political  leaders,  who make out that they are very, very clever individuals -  and thus  constantly tell the world that  they are  creative thinkers: when it comes to seeking funds for  transforming Ghana with. Hmmm, eyeasem, ooooo.

Please, with the greatest respect, and  humility,  do try  and find out, for yourself,   what the total value,  of the global carbon offset market, actually  is,  as we speak, wai. Yabr3 mu, oooo, Massa. Haaba.

As an  aspirational people, why can't we see the sense, in focusing on the creation of  a massive, and lucrative carbon offset market, for  Africa - with Ghana as its hub: to enable us raise debt-free cash, whiles at the same time,  also preserving our priceless  natural capital? Simple common sense, that, wai, Massa.

The question then is: Will that not enable us fund the creation of a prosperous society - not by government ministers - but by honest, creative and innovative  green entrepreneurs, working hard running  their ethically-anchored, sustainable green-businesses,  nationwide?

Please, some of  us seeming-fools, aren't nearly as stupid as some clever-cynics in this beautiful nation of ours, think,  oooo.
What we are risking our lives, campaigning for (alone, as you so pointedly, and cynically, said, sadly), will eventually create great wealth that stays locally,  and jobs galore, for our younger generations, across our homeland Ghana.

And, above all, please note that we do not seek to enrich ourselves,  at society's expense, in doing what some ridicule, and loathe us, so, for, wai. Yabr3  mu.
Hmmmm, eyeasem, ooooo. Eeiii,  Oman Ghana, enti yewieye paaa, enei? Asem kesie ebeba debi ankasa. Enough is enough. Haaba. Yoooooo...

Konongo-Kaya - Toxic Frustrators Best Avoided

Wherever in Africa they hail from, they are stingy, in their praise of others. They are the Konongo-Kaya. Hmmmm, eyeasem, ooooo. They abound in the continent's political world's oft-corruption-riddled-officialdom.

Their dog-in-manger-attitude, means that they are  resentful, when what they cannot, and will not do, is done by others - whom they envy: and seek to ridicule as a consequence. They are toxic, paaapa.

Avoid that type of fellow African like the plague. They are the enemies of progress. They specialise in frustrating others - and will do everything to prevent others from succeeding. Pity them - for they are pitiable-small-minds: with massive egos. Konongo-Kaya. Best avoided, la. Poor sods. Cool.

A Quick Note To The Modernghana.com Editorial Team

 Hello Gentlemen,

Many thanks, indeed, for all the support you offer insignificant people like us - by giving us the platform to interact with the world. It will please you to know that Amy Peake,   responded positively, to my quick note to her, the day after you published it. Cool.

The three ladies and I thank you for making that finally  happen - after persisting in chasing that long-cherished-dream, after  three  long years of trying.

As it happens, Amy's Loving Humanity NGO, will ship one unit, of their sanitary-pad-factory-in-a-shipping-container, to the three ladies -  if we can get taxes on them removed, as well as find a freight forwarder/clearing agent, to arrange  for the shipment from the UK: and  clear it from Tema Port upon its arrival in Ghana.

Well, the good news couldn't have come at a more propitious time - as the government of President Akufo-Addo, apparently intends to remove all the duties, on sanitary pads. We thank God Almighty for small mercies.

Perhaps the former Deputy Minister  for Trade and Industry, the forever-affable and helpful Hon. Carlos Ahenkora, might help, if approached - and agree to liase with Amy's team  to help get the container from the UK to Tema Port?

Just as a matter of interest, would your hardworking  Editorial Team, be willing to assist the three ladies, by taking that up and contacting Hon. Carlos Ahenkora on their behalf - perhaps as one of Modernghana.com's  CSR assistance-initiatives: and, by so doing, help ameliorate the plight of  the poorest of the poor, smongst the female population at Gomoa Buduburam's Camp Liberia?

Thanks in advance - and peace and blessings to all of you. Do continue staying safe!

Kind regards,

Kofi.

Why Ghana's Military High Command Must Now Act Swiftly To Protect The Reputation Of The Ghana Armed Forces

It would be a terrible tragedy, were ordinary Ghanaians to lose their respect, for the Ghana Armed Forces - one of the few trustworthy state institutions, left in the corruption-riddled Kafkaesque-world, of Ghanaian officialdom, which still remains a world-class entity.

In light of recent events, in which soldiers have been attacked and brutalised by civilians, in a number of countryside-trouble-spots, those who now constitute the Military High Command, need to understand clearly that they all risk being condemned by Posterity. Yoooooo...

Why, Kofi Thompson, do you say so, one hears some of one's  dear readers, ask?

The answer is simple: Posterity  (which can neither be intimidated, nor bought off, to remain silent, incidentally), might condemn them, for not acting in time, to stop the egregious-actions, and abominable-inactions, of irresponsible and power-drunk meddlesome-politicians  -  which all have a direct bearing on the erosion of public trust in our military.

It is for that reason that today,  I am republishing an article, which I wrote and posted online, on 05/08/2020, entitled: 'A Quick Note To Ghana's Military High Command - Who Are Servants and Protectors Of All Ghanaians'

 Please read on:

A Quick Note To Ghana's Military High Command - Who Are Servants and Protectors Of All Ghanaians

Gentlemen,

I salute you. As a patriotic Ghanaian who loves his country passionately, one feels that it is important that the Ghana Armed Forces' High Command, are sent a heartfelt message, such as this one, in clear and unambiguous terms, so that there is no misunderstanding, amongst you, as to who and who, amongst Ghana's hard-of-hearing ruling-élites, will bear ultimate responsibility, should widespread violence break out across Ghana, during the December presidential and parliamentary elections.

What the world has been seeing, in shocking television news reports, and smartphone-videos, gone viral, showing disturbing scenes of 'soldiers' deployed in voter registration centres, have definitely dented the hard-won global reputation, of the Ghana Armed Forces - a professional military force known globally as a disciplined, well-trained and well-equipped military force, which plays a crucial role, in sensitive United Nations peacekeeping operations, in some of the world's hottest trouble spots. No question.

With the greatest respect, gentlemen, it is in your own self-interest, as indivudual professional soldiers, that you are clear in your minds, that there are patriotic and discerning Ghanaians, who love Mother Ghana, so passionately that they are determined, if need be, to take all those powerful politicians, who are behind the abomination now going on, in many voters' registration centres, nationwide (in which Ghanaian 'soldiers' are clearly seen working in tandem with the ruling party's local executives, to prevent some individuals from being registered, despite the fact that the electoral laws make provision for challenging the registration of such people), to the International Criminal Court (ICC). Yoooooo...

The question is: How come that such a disturbing situation, is still being tolerated, by your good selves - when our country is definitely not a banana republic, I ask?

Gentlemen, more than most Ghanaians, it is you who ought to know, perfectly well, that the profession of arms is a noble one. Does it not follow, a priori, then, that you must not be seen to be condoning what concerned and fair-minded-critics, insist, is the execution of a secret Bryan Acheampong (who, for all we know, might be, or might not be, a covert CIA agent), and Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, inspired-conspiratory-agenda, which in effect, prostitutes the honour of our armed forces? So, how come that is apparently being allowed, by the High Command of the Ghana Armed Forces, gentlemen?

The subsequent question then is: As truly disciplined professionals (paid relatively well, by hapless and impoverished taxpayers, to protect all Ghanaians, and defend their sovereign, stable, and very peaceful African country, from internal-fifth-collumnists, and external terrorist-aggressors), why, are you not putting your collective-booted-foots, down, to halt that unpardonable, abominable and unspeakable outrage, from continuing? Yoooooo...

Do you not understand that it is your patriotic duty, to demand an immediate end, to the crime-against-humanity, which (if bush-telegraph sources are to be believed), the treasonable-conspiracy, and electoral-scorched-earth-strategy, which is today embolding, and empowering, myrmidon-thugs, from the NPP's privately-owned paramilitary forces, the Delta Force, and the Invincible forces (who have apparently been infiltrated into tbe national security apparatus - imagine that monstrosity being tolerated in what is a constitutional democracy. Haaba.), to wear military uniforms, with total impunity, ditto police uniforms, and are thus giving the world the wrong impression that our military and police, are being used, as willing-lackeys, by NPP local party executives? Amazing.

With the greatest respect, gentlemen, speaking frankly, the enablers of those brutish-morons, will unquestionably all end up appearing before the ICC, should they instigate widespread violence, across Ghana, during the December 2020 presidential and parliamentary elections, too, oooo. Yoooooo...

Repeat: Those of us who love Mother Ghana passionately, will, as sure as day follows night, drag every power-drunk-dullard, in the upper echelons of the NPP, involved in this treasonable-and-monstrous-conspiracy, to the ICC, if this outrage is repeated in the December presidential and parliamentary elections, and tips our country over the precipice, and leads to her descent into nation-wrecking-chaos and violonce. Full stop. Yooooo...

That is why, it is your collective-duty, as the ultimate guardians of our sovereignty at any given point in time, that as the High Command, overseeing the service commanders of our three armed services, you stop them from continuing to execute their unpardonable, and treasonable, secret agenda - which poses such a threat to the peace and stability of our united homeland Ghana. Yoooooo...

Above all, remember constantly, that, in the final analysis, in our system, sovereignty actually lies in the hands of the masses of the Ghanaian people - whom those who govern our nation, at all material times, are elected to serve - not to terrrorise, and lord it over, koraaaaa, oooo. Yooooo. Consequently, act now, as the Ghana Armed Forces' High Command, overseeing the work of the service commanders of our three armed services, to stop the NPP's supporters arrogant and power-drunk hardliners, from continuing to execute their unpardonable, and treasonable, secret agenda - which poses such a threat to the peace and stability of our united homeland Ghana.

Gentlemen, you must never forget that ours is a modern African nation, in which no tribe is superior, or inferior, to another. As you very well know, there is not a single extended family clan in our country, which is not ethnically-diverse: as a result of marriage, and ties of consanquinity.

Finally, is that blessing, not the main reason, why ours continues to remain a stable and united country, which attracts investors from around the world: precisely because it is seen, justly, as an oasis of peace, and stability, in Africa, I ask? Gentlemen, it is said that to be forewarned, is to be forearmed. It is also said that those who dare, also eventually win battles. Enough is enough. You must act to stop the intolerable egregious-nonsense going on, across the Republic of Ghana. Now. Not, tomorrow. Case closed. Hmmmm... Yoooooo...

Yours in the service of Mother Ghana

Kofi.

A Quick Note To Amy Peake - The Sanitary Pad Missionary

 Hello Amy,

As you are aware, my humble view, about the amazing work you do around the world, is that it is deserving of a Noble Prize.

The production and distribution  of affordable sanitary pads, and incontinent pads, to females in base-of-the-pyramid demographics, in marginalised communities across the global South, has got to be one of the most important contributions, to helping the poorest of the poor, to maintain their dignity, ever.

For that alone, in one's humble view, the UK-based NGO,  Loving Humanity, established by you, definitely deserves a Zayed Sustainability Health Sector Prize. For sure.

My prayer is that it will be brought to the attention of the  Ruler of Dubai, and Vice President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), HRH Sheikh Rashid bin Mohammed Al Maktoum.   Kudos to you and your hardworking team members Amy!

Finally, for me, the question you need to ponder over is: When exactly will Loving Humanity get into Ghana's Central Region's Gomoa Buduburam's Camp Liberia refugee settlement area - and partner  the indefatigable Hajia Tenneh Kamara, the brilliant Christiana Hawa Morris and the dynamic Pendora Williams,  to set up a sanitary pad and incontinent pad factory there? Cool.

Thanks.

Kind regards,

Kofi.

Our Nation's Wealth And Resources Must Benefit All Ghanaians - Not Just A Powerful And Greedy Few

That Ghanians are  a hard-working and aspirational people, is not in doubt. What we must ensure, is that in the transformation of our society, our nation's  wealth and abundant natural resources, benefit  all our people - not just a powerful few with greedy ambitions: to paraphrase the great President Nkrumah.

To use a Ghanaian pidgin English phrase: Make you hear well, well, oooo, Massa. Let us unite as a people, and get rid of those amongst our ruling-élites,  who don't understand that the wealth and resources of our nation, should never end up in the hands of a powerful few, when it can give all the people of Ghana, some of the  highest living standards anywhere  on the surface of the  planet Earth.

We have enough wealth and resources, which can be harnessed, exclusively, for common-good purposes, instead of ending up in the hands of a few well-connected greed-filled regime-cronies.

Examples are: access to free education from kindergarten to tertiary level, paid for (using state-issued  Huawei smartphones-for-all-citizens enabling citizens to interact with officialdom), with Bank of Ghana (BoG) digital money, deposited into individual BoG accounts,  opened for every citizen above age 5. Cool.

There will also be accommodation in well-designed and well-built green towns and cities (for all families that need them), in new green, world-class communities with forest gardens, for all families that need them, who will pay for them over 35 years, in agreed affordable installments, using their BoG digital money for that purpose, from their own citizen-BoG-accounts

The same direct payment method, will also provide access to educational institutions, providing fee education from kindergarten to tertiary level, for all who need that basic human right, but cannot afford to finance it, on their own.

Ditto access to world-class healthcare facilities, which get paid directly by patients (using their BoG digital money from wallets  on their  Huawei smartphones-for-all-citizens, which have apps detailing all healthcare costs), for the use of diagnostic equipment, labs, medication from pharmacies, etc., etc., nationwide.

That is how our nation's wealth and resources can benefit all Ghanaians - instead of ending up in the grasping hands of a well-connected, greed-filled and  powerful  cabal. Hmmm, Oman Ghana, eyeasem ooooo - enti yewieye paaa enei? Asem kesie ebeba debi ankasa. So, dear reader, listen well,  well, oooo. Hmmmm. Yoooooo...

To Those Now Robbing Mother Ghana In Broad Daylight - And Backstabbing President Akufo-Addo, Too

Who would have thought,  when the New Patriotic Party's  (NPP) bigwigs were in the political wilderness,  and forever condemning the Mahama administration's regime-cronies' create-loot-and-share high-level corruption, that Ghana would continue to  experience the selfsame egregious-thievery-in-high-places, when they came to power again,  too? Haaba.

Today, their active-rent-seeking, has led some of them  to attempt the financial 419-equivalent, of galamsey, using a special purpose vehicle, apparently legally  domiciled, in Jersey, in the Channel Islands, off Britain's southern coast. Eeiiii.

Apparently, the sikasempuduo-419-Agyapaapabi-Assaseyaa-capper, is to enable them 'find' a billion dollars, for Ghana's infrastructural development -  a clever ruse, to justify that crime-against-humanity, empowering them to permanently guarantee their own net wealth,  soaring to stratospheric heights, in line with inflation, through leveraging the inflows derived from royalty monies, from the exploitation of our nation's abundant mineral deposits. Eyeasem, oooo. Hmmmm...

The question is: Why do they not simply  ask the private-sector  (such as cement factory owners teaming up with local road construction firms, for example), to fund the building of a network of world-class tolled concrete roads, nationwide,  themselves, in return for pocketing the revenues from those tolled-roads, tax-free, for say 35 years, instead, I ask - when that means no longer burdening future generations  with debt mountains?  Haaba.

Today, those who were forever criticising the effete John Dramani Mahama (and his Stan Dogbe-led daft-and-arrogant-crew, which  surrounded him, and disastrously acted as gatekeepers for him), for their regime-cronies' create-loot-and-share rent-seeking, are now also engaging in mammoth create-loot-and-share, mega-behemoth, high-level-corruption, themselves. Wow. Hmmmm, eyeasem, ooooo...

So, who are they, Kofi Thompson, I hear you ask, dear reader? Well, they are the greed-filled, NPP super-hypocrites, currently busy backstabbing the honest and visionary President Akufo-Addo, and destroying his legacy, such as it is, thus far. Pity.

Now, we see their original strategy clearly: bring in a Special Prosecutor, and then hobble him;  then try to get rid of the honest and principled Chief of Staff, graft-spotting stumbling-block, Madam Fremaa Opare; get the Central  Bank, the Bank of Ghana (BoG), to start buying gold to fast-track asset-stripping Ghana; then get rid of the bravest Auditor General, ever, in Ghana's chequered history, to date, the fearless Mr. Domelovo; and, finally, frighten journalists, badly, by allegedly facilitating the murdering of the nosey-parkers in their midst (according to bush-telegraph sources and conspiracy-theorists). The 16th March, 2019 gunning down, of the investigative journalist, poor Ahmed Hussein-Suale, readily comes to mind.  Hmmmm, eyeasem, ooooo...

Hypocrites, to a man, those sodden greedy plutocrats, and oligarchs, are the greediest regime-cronies, ever, in our nation's entire history. However, if it is any consolation, dear reader, they will never get away with their crimes, against the people of Ghana. A crookery-classic being those who have purloined the PDS-billions. Yoooooo...

For, as sure as day follows night, they will all be investigated, prosecuted and jailed, for causing financial loss to Ghana,  someday, when yours truly, assumes the presidency in 2025, as an independent leader,  free of the criminal syndicates that political parties have evolved into (in order to obtain funding for their operations nationwide). I solemnly  promise that they will never get away with robbing Mother Ghana, blind, in broad daylight. Hmmmm. Oman Ghana - eyeasem ooooo - enti yewieye paaa enei? Asem kesie ebeba debi ankasa, ooooo. Hmmmm. Yoooooo...

Will Slum-Clearance Help Make Accra Africa's Cleanest City?

Given its  many drawbacks, can our nation's chaotic and lively capital city, of Accra, ever become the cleanest city, in Africa? Perhaps. Who knows? It is not beyond the realms of possibility, for that to happen,  actually.  So there is  hope, yet.

We can actually make that dream a reality, if we are sufficiently determined,  as an aspirational and disciplined people - and approach that noble great-task,  in green-entrepreneurial-fashion. Cool.

That process, can begin, by  undertaking creative-people-centred slum-clearance. As it happens, in the Accra of today, most of the city's slums, actually sit on land that ranks amongst the most valuable, in the whole of sub-Saharan Africa, as a matter of fact.

Brand new well-planned and well-built green cities, underpinned by resilience-engineered-infrastructure, should be built to relocate residents of those slums to - whereupon those slums will then be razed to the ground, and green developers from across the globe, invited to put in competitive bids, to build new green mixed commercial and residential developments, comparable to the world's leading  cities, such as London and New York City, on what were formerly slum lands, with financing from long-term funds  from Ghana's pension and insurance industries, as well as patient-impact-investors from around the world.

Perforce, the relocated slum-dwellers will have  collective pro-bono-stakes,  in the new green inner-city development schemes - for the sacrifices they made in agreeing to be relocated - to the salubrious Akwapim mountains.

Speaking personally, one would select the innovative  Australian company, Mirreco (Google: www.mirreco.com), whose cutting-edge green carbon  building technologies are built on the bedrock of utilising the value chain of industrial hemp - and will add the development of a new agricultural sector subsector: the establishment of district industrial hemp plantations across Ghana, on top of their class-leading  proprietary carbon building technologies.

Those new planned green-inner-city mixed commercial and residential developments, will all be powered, by the brilliant Ghanaian engineer and inventor, Raphael Afordoanyi's serendipitous human-civilisation-game-changing, emission-free green  stand-alone off-grid clean-power plants, which will produce electricity that never goes off, and is a great deal  cheaper than even electricity  from  nuclear power plants. Wow.

Finally, without question, the successful undertaking of all the above, will certainly help make the then newly-rejuvenated and greened capital city, of Accra, one of the cleanest metropolitan regions, if not the cleanest city, in the whole of Africa. Cool.

Ghanaians Demand That The Ghana Police Service Now Adopts An Operate-Without-Fear-Or-Favour-Professionalism-Posture

The time has now come for the Ghana Police Service (the men and women of which, really ought to be paid even more than the military - because of the many risks they face daily), to end the colonial-era-ethos, of serving Ghana's ruling-élites, at the rest of society's expense.

Such a well-run,  modern-day African police force, which can be compared  to the best police forces, globally, should not stoop so low - as to allow itself to manipulated by order-from-above-edicts, from selfish and power-drunk politicians, in charge of governments of the day. Yooooooooo...

The leadership of the Ghana Police Service, must emulate their UK counterparts' attitude to professionalism -  that, it is a given, that at all material times, the law must be applied to all,  who fall foul of it, in British society: rich or poor alike,  including even members of the British royal family, a senior member of which (the Princess Royal, HRH Princess Anne), they succeessfuly prosecuted, and got a criminal conviction against, in November 2002, at Slough Crown Court, when her dog bit two children, who were on a walk through Windsor Park. Yooooooooo...

Ghanaians demand that such an operate-without-fear-or-favour-professionalism-ethos, guides the work of the current leadership of the Ghana Police Service - as the 2020 presidential  and parliamentary elections approach,  and bellicose politicians  threatening to tip their only home, the Republic of Ghana, over the precipice,  do so, on an almost daily basis,  now: yet their relatively peaceful country, has a well-deserved global reputation, as a haven of stability, in sub-Saharan Africa, which enabled their nation to attract iconic  global automotive brands, such as Volkswagen and Nissan. Yoooooooo...

A Quick Note To The Purported-Emmissaries Of The Paramount Chief Of Akyem Kwabeng - Who Contacted Me Apparently On His Behalf

Gentlemen,

I shall go straight to the point: I am writing to inform you, that, sadly, and  very reluctantly, I have decided to call off the meeting scheduled for tomorrow. A thousand apologies. I am truly sorry that I have had to  spring this on  you, at the eleventh hour, so to speak. Do forgive me.

Based on intelligence, which I  picked up, not too long ago, you are all apparently labouring  under the illusion, that, somehow,  you can take away my family's 14-square mile freehold, upland evergreen rainforest property, at Akyem Juaso.  Amazing.

If that is true, then please be absolutely clear, in your minds, that that will never happen. Ever. No one in the Republic of Ghana, not even the President, can lawfully  sieze our privately-owned land,  to hand it over any Chief, or any other Ghanaian citizens for that matter.  Period.

The idea that we can be deprived of our lawfully acquired, and  legally registered Akyem Juaso rainforest property,  purchased with the concurrence of Nana Ofori-Atta, from the then Gyasehene of Akyem Kwabeng, in 1921, and 1926, for £1000 all together  (an astronomical sum then), is, with the greatest respect, nonsensical. It will never ever happen.  Full stop.

If it is true that that corrupt and criminally -minded current Okyeame of Akyem Juaso (whose stock in trade is felling trees illegally on our said land), apparently thinks he can scheme, and successfully manipulate you, to somehow take our freehold land, away from  us, and, be helped by you,  to successfully grab what is  our lawfully-owned freehold rainforest  property, so that it can be  handed over to the next Odikro of Akyem Juaso (now a vacant position following the death of the  late incumbent, Barima Kofi Osei, my very  good friend), as Stool land, means that he is even more stupid, than I previously thought he was.  What perfidy.

Fuethermore, he is said to be lobbying furiously, for that now-vacant Chieftaincy position, and title, in order to ensure that a blood-relative, of his, apparently obtains it - which is where you too-clever-by-half lot, fit in in his stupid-scheming. He can dream on - it is a free society after all, is it not? We will face all if you in court, if anyone dares to attempt any takeover of that land, which has belonged to my family since 1921, from the British colonial era. Yooooo...

Thanks.

Respectfully yours,

Kofi.

A Quick Note To Peter Agbeko - A Tireless World-Class Ghanaian Media Professional

Thanks for sharing, Peter the Great. The GJA  has its work cut out, alas. It is well nigh impossible to try and control the proliferation of new media. Trying to do so is madness - for that is an impossibility, it being a sysyphean-task.

Perhaps, what the GJA would be wise, to do, instead, is to boldly confront the illiberal folk in Ghana, who constantly, seek to subtly  suppress press freedom. Going to court every time a media professional is assaulted is key to that.

Ditto encouraging media schools to focus on ethical journalism - which, hopefully, would make a difference  to the output  of mainstream media entities: the most responsible of which, thank goodnes, still remain influential in Ghanaian society, as it happens.

Finally, one ought to make the point, forcefully, that not enough has been done to highlight the very key roles that Ambassador Kabral Blay-Amihere, and Mrs. Gifty Afennyi Dadzie, played, in laying the foundation that strengthened the GJA -  at some considerable cost to  themselves, financially and emotionally, it ought to be pointed out.

They are fantastic examples of  great-African-achievers,  and passionate  Pan-Africanists. Every journalist in Ghana, for whom professionalism actually  matters, ought to be eternally grateful, to those two brilliant world-class individuals.

Peter, it might interest you to know that such is my love, and admiration, for Kabral, that I feel compelled to needle him, every time I meet him. Luckily for him,  as I have aged, and become frail, and now don't go out much, he is unlikely to bump into me, anywhere.

Finally, it will probably come as a surprise to some, that it was moi,  who suggested the title for Kabral's very interesting book: "Fighting For Freedom  -  The Autobiography Of An African Journalist." But I digress. So, do send him my warmest regards, when you next communicate with him,  my dear Peter the Great. Cool.

Stuff That Make Up One's Nightmare-Dreams Sometimes

I wept, when I read a New York Times news story, entitled, "After Isaias, More than 2 Million Still Without Power in New York Area", by Mihir  Zaveri, about the devastation wrought in parts of the New York region, by Tropical Storm Isaias, and the damage done to the area's  power grid, which has led to a rather lengthy period that many consumers will apparently  be without power.

My sorrow results from knowledge  that such calamities that turn the lives of ordinary people worldwide upside down, would never happen again, anywhere in the world, were skeptical  investors  to  embrace the brilliant  Ghanaian inventor,  Raphael  Afordoanyi, and empower him to fast-track the process of  bringing  his  serendipitous emission-free, game-changing off-grid clean power invention, to market.

I still marvel at the fact that the impact-patient-investors who have been approached, thus far, have not been daring enough to back him - and in my nightmare-dreams,  many are invariably unwilling  do so wholeheartedly, without trying to take the idea for themselves, exclusively,  in exhange for Raphael accepting a one-off six figure payoff, and giving up the rights to his priceless intellectual property, that will save humankind from  passing the climate-change-tipping-point-of-no-return.

Then I wake up to cold reality again. For me, it is incredible that an off-grid emission-free  cutting-edge invention, which will produce power that never goes off, regardless of prevailing weather conditions, and, on top, is even cheaper than electricity  from  nuclear power stations, and will  give consumers worldwide, incredibly cheap electricity, still struggles to find the right farsighted superwealthy benevolent-backers. Such is life - and the baleful behind-the-scenes-influence, of the doomed fossil fuel industry's major players. Pity.

So, how come that is being allowed by the High Command of the Ghana Armed Forces, gentlemen?

The subsequent question then is: As truly disciplined professionals (paid relatively well, by hapless and impoverished taxpayers,  to protect all Ghanaians, and defend their sovereign, stable, and very peaceful African country, from internal-fifth-collumnists, and external  terrorist-aggressors),  why, are you not putting your collective-booted-foots, down, to halt that unpardonable, abominable and unspeakable outrage, from continuing? Yoooooo...

Do you not understand that it is your patriotic duty, to demand an immediate end, to  the crime-against-humanity, which (if bush-telegraph sources are to be believed), the treasonable-conspiracy, and electoral-scorched-earth-strategy, which is today embolding, and empowering,  myrmidon-thugs, from the NPP's privately-owned paramilitary forces,  the Delta Force, and the Invincible forces (who have apparently been infiltrated into tbe national security apparatus - imagine that  monstrosity being given tolerated in what is a constitutional democracy. Haaba.), to wear military uniforms with total impunity, ditto police uniforms, and are thus giving the world the wrong impression  that our military and police, are  being used, as willing-lackeys, by NPP local party executives? Amazing.

With the greatest respect, gentlemen, speaking frankly, the enablers of those brutish-morons, will unquestionably all end up appearing before the  ICC, should they instigate widespread violence, across Ghana, during the December 2020 presidential and parliamentary elections, too.

Full stop. Yooooo...

That is why, it is your collective-duty,  as the ultimate guardians of our sovereignty at any given point in  time, that as the High Command, overseeing the  service commanders of our three armed services, you must stop them from continuing to execute  their unpardonable, and treasonable, secret agenda  - which poses such  a threat to the peace and stability of our united  homeland Ghana. Yoooooo...

Above all, remember constantly, that, in  the final analysis, in our system, sovereignty  actually lies in the hands of the masses of the Ghanaian people - whom those who govern our nation, at all material times, are elected to serve -  not to terrrorise, and lord it over, koraaaaa oooo. Yooooo. Consequently, act now, as  the Ghana Armed Forces' High Command, overseeing the work of thde service commanders of our three armed services, to stop the NPP'supporters arrogant and power-drunk hardliners, from continuing to execute  their unpardonable, and treasonable, secret agenda  - which poses such  a threat to the peace and stability of our united  homeland Ghana.

Gentlemen, you must never forget that ours is a modern African nation,  in which no tribe is superior, or inferior, to another.  As you very well know, there is not a single extended family clan in our country, which   is not ethnically-diverse: as a result of marriage, and ties of consanquinity.

Finally, is that not  blessing, the main reason why ours continues to remain a stable and united country, which  attracts investors from around the world: precisely because it is seen, justly, as an oasis of peace and stability, in Africa, I ask?  Gentlemen, it is said that to be forewarned,  is to be forearmed. It is also said that those  who dare, also eventually win battles. Enough is enough. You must act to stop the intolerable  egregious-nonsense going on, across the Republic of Ghana.  Now. Not, tomorrow. Case closed. Hmmmm. Yoooooo...

Yours in the service of Mother Ghana

Kofi.

A Quick Note To Mohammed T - Who Posts Comments On Modernghana.com Commentary

All the points you raise are well noted, Yewura Mohammed T. Grateful to you for sharing your valid lived-experience-viewpoint.One is always glad to hear from today's young-generation of Nima-Maamobi's   residents.

Yewura Mohammed T, with respect, please note that no one is actually being blamed, for what is a sysyphean-task -  the provision of efficient and regular household waste removal services, to Nima-Maamobi's residents: many of whom, like you, also abhor filth.

However, one also needs to make the point that in an era when global pandemics are predicted to become regular existential threats, for societies, worldwide, we simply need to find creative ways to build planned new green cities, for slumdwellers, nationwide, to be moved into - funded through leveraging the value locked in what often are incredibly valuable urban lands, which, sadly, are often today's slum-hotspots, for public-health-endangering pathogens.

Finally, let me thank you once again, for taking the trouble to comment on my article entitled:' How Do We Protect Nima-Maamobi's Residents From The Perennial Floods Blighting Their Lives?' that focused on a possible future for  Nima-Maamobi. One wishes you well. May Allah Almighty bless and protect you, always - and, above all, stay safe by wearing your nose mask: and observing all the COVID-19 containment-protocols. Cool.

How Do We Protect Nima-Maamobi's Residents From The Perennial Floods Blighting Their Lives?

One will start off, by saying that one freely admits to  being an old fool, who is also a semi-literate and an  insufferable-ignoramus. Having done so (to disarm the forever-partisan-crowds, who are wont to descend on critics of those in power, as governments-of-the-day, at any given point in time, in our history),  one will now share one's view on how to stop flooding in Nima- Maamobi. Permanently.

That task, ought to be kickstarted, by  valuing all their their properties, large and small, permanent or temporary, and go on to design and construct a spanking new green city, which is well-designed, well-built, and built to be climate-change-resilient  -  before relocating them there, for their present inner-city slum to be redeveloped. Simple.

It ought to be noted that the land they currently occupy, is one of the most valuable parcels, of urban land,  in the entire continent of Africa today.

That is why every permanent property, and temporary  structure,  on it,  ought to be valued properly and fairly,  before those twinned inner-city slums, are finally razed to the ground, but, repeat,  not before  the residents there are  all relocated to the new green city, New Nima-Maamobi. which should  be located in the Akwapim Hills.

Using the model used by the former Lenanese premiere, Rafic Hariri (who rebuilt war-ravaged inner Beirut, as Lebanon''s wealthiest individual), a  consortium, made up of local banks, pension funds and entities in Ghana's  insurance industry (and in which all the relocated residents, who once owned properties there, should also be given a joint-stake in, too - as compensation for their sacrifices),  should be formed,  and tasked with designing a brand new climate-change-proofed green city, comparable to the world's leading cities (in all seven continents in our biosphere).

That really is the most equitable way to proceed, in the humble opinion of this self-admitted old fool. It is just my two pesewas, and one's humble opinion. It answers the question as to how we can stop flooding in present-day Nina-Maamobi, creatively. Permanently. Move the residents elsewhere,  in other words. Cool.

Should Ghanaians Pray Constantly To God Almighty To Protect President Akufo-Addo - From Backstabbers In His Party?

In a video clip that apparently was widely circulated, in which Hon. Kennedy Adjapong, bemoaned the ingratitude of his own party, the New Patriotic Party (NPP), towards him, and the egregious-betrayal of President Akufo-Addo, by the regional executives of the NPP, in the Central Region, he described the president's predicament, perfectly.

Hon. Kennedy Adjapong described the backstabbing of the honest and principled President Akufo-Addo, by greed-filled party bigwigs, brutally gang-raping both Mother Ghana, and Mother Nature, as akin to an impressive-looking tall Onyina tree, in a denuded forest, which, in reality, actually had rotten roots, and was thus weak and not as strong as it looked.

It illustrates perfectly, the dilemma facing President Akufo-Addo (who unquestionably is the most honest, principled and incorruptible, of all the elected leaders Ghana has had, since the overthrow of the great and selfless President Nkrumah, in 1966), whose conundrum, is that decisions are being taken in his name, by some of those in his inner circle, who have secret agendas of their own.

The shameful sidelining of the substantive Auditor General - the fearless, bold and patriotic Mr. Domelovo  -  with the shameful connivance of groveling sycophants, in the upper echelons of the Auditor General's Department, with the board chairperson as the vociferous cheerleader, will tarnish the legacy of President Akufo-Addo, who will be condemned for it, by Posterity, as sure as day follows night.

Yet, according to bush-telegraph sources, President Akufo-Addo had nothing to do with a plot that was a fait accompIi presented to him, through a publicly issued statement in his name, from the presidency, which had everything to do with a smoke-and-mirrors-tactical-move, designed to enable them to save face for Hon. Yaw Osafo Marfo, the cognitively-calcified, bigoted-Akan tribal-supremacist, who should never have been appointed as senior minister, in the first place, and who ought to have been sacked by President Akufo-Addo, a long time ago. Eeiiii,  hmmmm, Oman Ghana, eyeasem, ooooo  -  enti yewieye paaa enei? Asem kesie ebeba debi ankasa, oooo. Hmmmm. Yoooooo...
