Ever since it was announced that a new region would be carved out of the Western Region - and would be known as the Western North Region - some of us have searched far and wide for the compass point, 'western north', but to no avail. Eeiiiii.
The question is: Were those who named the new region, actually referring to the compass point, West-northwest, or simply created the name 'western north' themselves? Ebeeii. Hmmm, Ghana, eyeasem o. Or, more to the point, why don't geographers in our tertiary institutions save us from this self-inflicted major-embarrassment?
Be that as it may, if there is any confusion about the compass point after which the new region is named, why do we not simply name it after either the biggest river flowing through it, or name it after the highest mountain, in the landmass of that particular jurisdiction? Simple. Hmmm, brofuyi oooo.
