A Quick Note To Judy Calman - Who Posts On The David Attenborough For The Noble Prize Facebook Group

Bravo, Judy Calman  -  you are spot on. We humans need to stop thinking that somehow we are doing the planet Earth a huge favour, by our campaigns and advocacy, to save the world's natural environment.

In making our biosphere uninhabitable, t is humankind that is actually at risk of becoming extinct, not the earth. Full stop. We all need to understand that perfectly.

On the scale of geological time - barring it being smashed into smithereens by an object from outer space - in a few million years, our biosphere would have recovered from our barbaric-environmental-vandalism, and will be thriving again, sans homo sapiens. Simple. Not rocket science.

Even,  I,  an old fool from a backwater, in my native  Ghana, with very little formal education, can understand that.  Before our encounter with the first Europeans (the Portuguese), in the 15th century, my ancestors lived in harmony with Mother Nature.

Sir David has devoted his entire life, to making the whole world understand,  why  living in harmony with nature, is an existential-need. In so doing, we are only ensuring that we do not end up making our biosphere uninhabitable for humanity.

Let us hope that the Noble Committee, recognises Sir David's distinguished  service, to humankind, in that regard, and finally  honours him with a Noble Peace Prize. Happy holidays - and may 2021 turn out to be much better year than the annus horribilis that 2020 was!

Why Public Demonstrations Against the EC Isn't Clever Strategy

A neighbour asked me, a few days ago, why I was so critical of the National Democratic Congress' (NDC) public demonstrations,  against the Electoral Commission (EC). My answer to her, was that when dealing with evil politicos (who have become power-drunk, and seek to hang on to power, at all costs, after recieving a drubbing in an election),  organising public demonstrations is simply not clever.

In such situations, public demonstrations, only present the thieves-in-high-places, seeking a return to power, again,  regardless, with the opportunity to infiltrate those public demonstrations with agent-provocateur-types, who resort to violence in order to discredit what are meant to be peaceful demonstrations. Ghanaians don't like violent public demonstrations. Full stop. Case closed.

If I were an NDC member (God forbid! ),  I would rather be focusing on collaborations with overseas common-good organisations, such as the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists  (ICIJ), for a number of desired-achievable-objectives.

For example, a collaboration  with the ICIJ, can be used successfully, by the NDC, to follow the paper-trail, if any exist, for offshore  cash payments, made to buy the 2020 elections. This is not rocket science,  oooo. Yooooooo...

And, subsequently,  using ICIJ members in the Organisation of Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) member-states, after unearthing vital evidence, will enable the NDC to petition their governments, to indict any Ghanaians involved in that egregious, and, treasonable act, of colluding-to-sell-a-national-election. Simple.

The question for the NDC to ponder over is: Do all those  high-ups, in Ghanaian officialdom, who were allegedly bribed (according to bush-telegraph sources),  to sell the 2020  elections, not have ill-treated minions, serving them in their offices, anaaa? Hmmm, eyeasem, ooooo...

Furthermore, do those ill-treated minions, not know lots of  top-secret-things-paaapa, anaaaa, and will they not willingly let the cat out of the bag, so to speak, if they knew about the existence of a well-endowed reward-fund, set up by the wealthiest NDC supporters, specifically to handsomely reward all those who provide credible information, about the stealing of the 2020 elections? Yoooooo...

There is no question that such a strategy,  by the NDC, will help secure convictions, in OECD member-nations' law courts. That is because those ill-treated minions, will happily sing, paaaa - faced with the prospect of also being in a position to finally get rich too: like their arrogant and disdainful bosses. I believe it is called the Adidigya-betrayal-syndrome, Massa. Simple. Public demos  are old hat in such situations, oooo, wai. Yoooooo...

Has The Time Now Come To Take Heads of Ghana's Security Agencies To The ICC?

Has the time now come to take the Military High Command, the IGP and the heads of all the other security agencies, to the International Criminal Court (ICC)? The National Democratic Congress (NDC), on behalf of the people of Ghana, ought to collaborate with organisations like the World Federalist Movement,  and the Institute for Global Policy, to hold the Military High Command, the IGP and the heads of all the security agencies, directly responsible, for the killings resulting from the deliberate  use of live ammunition, against those protesting against illegalities in the Techiman South constituency. Enough is enough.

The profession of arms is a noble one. By adopting a three-monkeys-stance, and allowing the recruitment into the National Security apparatus, of vicious myrmidon-thugs, from two privately-owned militias, the notorious Delta Force, and the Invincible Forces, who were allegedly kitted out in military and police uniforms, for the 2020 elections,  according to bush-telegraph sources, the Military High Command, the IGP and the heads of all the other security agencies, allowed the honour of their organisations to be prostituted, in the most egregious of fashions. Pity.

It is obvious that only international opprobium, today, will ensure that in future, those heading the Ghana Armed Forces, the Ghana Police Service, the Ghana Immigration Service, the Ghana Prison Service, the Custom,  Excise and Preventitive Service, of the Ghana Revenue Authority, and the Ghana Fire Service, will act to prevent such atrocities from occurring, during presidential and parliamentary elections, by acting professionally, at all  material times.

Those heading those security agencies today, will be judged to have been on the wrong side of history,  by future generations. They will therefore be condemned, in the strongest possible terms, by Providence, for standing by, and allowing those in power, today, to commit such crimes against humanity,  merely to rig an election to enable them hang on to power.

Yet, the New  Patriotic Party  (NPP), could have won this election,  easily, and, by a landslde margin, if they had acted resolutely, to root out high-level corruption,  as promised, during the campaign for the December 2020 presidential and parliamentary elections -  a promise which contributed a great deal to winning them power.

Sadly, in the event, they ended up as the most corrupt regime, ever, thus far, in the history of the 4th Republic, despite the government being led by a personally incorruptible President, whose legacy, easily makes Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the next best most-effective-elected-leader, since the overthrow of the great President Nkrumah (of blessed memory), in 1966.  Shame on them.

Did God Almighty Battle To Miraculously Shelve The Agyapaapabi-Assaaseyaa-Jersey-SPAC-Heist Permanently?

If God Almighty hadn't intervened, as  sure as day follows night, Agyapa Royalties would have ended up becoming a legal-conduit, for secretly funding the riskiest projects of the golden-princelings-and-princesses, of our county's greed-filled wealthy ruling-élites, abroad, safely out of the reach of Parliamentary scrutiny-and-oversight, ditto the scrutiny of sundry local regulatory bodies, as well as that of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).

Hitherto,  until technology made it a very, very risky undertaking, to do so, the Social Security and National Insurance Trust  (SNNIT), was the go-to bank-of-last resort, for funding unbankable-projects, dreamt up by respectable-looking thieves-in-high-positions in our country. Agyapa Royalties was meant to be the secret funding source, for funding such projects, waaa, waaa, waaa, waaa. Sarjewah. Who born dog?

Onyame, entise Alata ni,  enti, the impossible happened, and the Lord battled for the NDC, to gain enough seats, in the 8th Parliament,  to permanently shelve the Agyapaapabi-Assaseyaa-Jersey-invincible-men-connection permanently.

As some now posit, God Almighty intervened  to save hapless Ghanaians, from the clutches, of the thieves-in-high-places, whose unfathomable-greed, nearly lost President Akufo-Addo,  the presidency, and deny him the opportunity for a second term, as Ghana's leader. The question we must all ponder over is: Did God Almighty battle to miraculously shelve the Agyapaapabi-Assaaseyaa-Jersey-SPAC-heist, permanently, anaaaa?  Cool.

Some Desirable Positive Outcomes One Hopes For In 2021

One  hopes, in 2021, that we will see more and more  gifted young Ghanaian musicians, playing songs of the type played by the ever-brilliant Ofori Amponsahs, Daddy Lumbas, the Obaapa Christys and Diana Antwi Hamiltons.

One also hopes that we will see more younger generation groups, playing the kind of cosmopolitan fusion-music, with distinctly Afrocentric-underpinnings, and  also wear African-inspired  fashion-styles, on stage, when performing at live concerts, and in music videos, for their worldwide streaming audiences, like the once-famed UK-based group, Osibisa, used to wow global concert audiences with, on their world live concert tours. Cool.

Above all, one wants to see more younger  generation Ghanaian women, who are independent-young-achievers, abandoning 'human-hair-wigs', and keeping their hair short and natural.

Ditto, quit allowing their fingernails to grow in claw-like fashion, because they are such a hideous sight, and most definitely attract all manner of bugs, on top too - and rather elect to keep them short and neatly trimmed.  Always. More ladylike, like that. Simple.

Incidentally, wearing African print Kaba-and-slit,  makes every woman who wears one, look incredibly dignified. Full stop. Case closed. Yoooooo...

The question for young Ghanaian women-achievers-of-note  to ponder over, is: Why ruin your posture with high stiletto shoes, instead of wearing short-heeled ones, of the kind favoured by Queen Elizabeth 11,  of Great Britain, and which she  wears regularly? They are so dignified, practical and good for a woman's posture, too, on top, ooooo. Yoooooo...

Then one also hopes that the new national carrier,  will  be a public private partnership (PPP), with 70 percent to the foreign partner, which ought to be a highly reputable sheduled airline, sporting a new fleet, and blessed with worldwide point-to-point  routes, so that Accra's international airport, becomes Africa's one-open-sky-hub, with very, very affordable tickets to connect travellers to cities in all the other continents,  in our biosphere.

One hopes that it will be a win-win and  ethically-anchored-PPP, with a dynamic low-cost carrier, such as Norwegian Longhaul, with Ghana using its access to the African continental free-trade area's one-open-sky (for point-to-point connections to the continent's major cities!), as 30 percent  sweat-equity. Simple. Lucrative. And, a global-image-booster-bar-none,  to attract tourists from around the globe,  to visit our beautiful homeland,  Ghana. Cool.

Those are some of my wishes for 2021 - in addition to, hopefully being in a position, by the end of the first quarter, to find sponsorship, to  enable one start a monthly,  'Kofi Thompson  hourly-podcast', from rural Ghana, amidst globally significant  endangered forest zone areas, such as Akyem Juaso.  Cool.

An Apology To All Whom One's Writing Offended In 2020

Today,  one wishes to render a heartfelt apology, to all whom one  offended, in any of one's 2020 writing.  In similar spirit, one also forgives all who were unfair to one, too, with their responding-comments, during that period.

One also prays for wisdom, for all our nation's ruling-élites, so that they will enable ours to remain a stable, peaceful and united African mulitiparty democracy - in which all are free to pursue their lawful desires, and can speak truth to power, when necessary, as patriots and active-responsible-citizens.

Above all, let us continue staying safe from COVID-19, by observing all the necessary protocols, whenever appropriate - and that 2021, will be a much better year, for our nation, and all her citizens. And, happy holidays, too, oooo, Ghanafuo - particularly to those whom one offended, and  now begs forgivance from!

A Quick Note To Eugene Kofi Boakye-Yiadom - Explaining Focus Of His Brilliant Offspring

Funny question, favourite nephew. Very.  Sorry. For your information, if asked to join the Electoral Commission HQ street-demo, by fanatical-supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), in front of the Electoral Commission's HQ, your children will simply write to all the  NDC's leaders, to ask them if they are prepared to lead the protesters, personally, with their families in the  vanguard - as that is only when they will ever think about such a daft idea.

Massa, your kids know that  the 1992 Constitution, requires that aggrieved contestants in presidential and parliamentary elections, head straight for the  law courts,  for redress, when they feel that they were robbed of victory.

Street protests inconveniencing the motoring public, and law-abiding  pedestrians going about their productive endeavours, are a waste of valuable time, in their view. Full stop. Case closed. Simple.

Your  kids aren't fools. Since their family's green economy  business is in the tourism sector, the last thing they want, are viral videos of  violent street demonstrations,  across Ghana, flooding online social media platforms, wai. That is bad for business. Who born dog?

Plus, they are neither beholden to, nor need a pesewa, from any Ghanaian politicians, too, oooo - since their family's green business is lucrative paaaaapa!   Ahhhhh, you paaaa,  do you think they are daft anaaaa? Go on demonstrations for sly and selfish self-seekers? How? For what ends? You paaaaaa. Haaba.

Should The Accra International Press Centre Not Be Named After Tiger Eye's Ahmed Suale?

"The condition upon which God hath given liberty to man is eternal vigilance."

            - John Philpot Curran (1750-1817)

That journalists in Ghana now face increasing intimidation, is beyond dispute. To send a clear signal to would-be-tyrrants, in our homeland Ghana, perhaps the International Press Centre in Accra, ought to be named after  Ahmed Suale, the murdered Tiger Eye investigative journalist.

In so doing, the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA), would be immortalising him, and symbolically  avenging his death, in a real sense. It will be also be a clear message to the hypocritical-cowards,  who had him murdered, that regardless of how long it takes, the media will ensure that the hunt for his murderers, never becomes a  cold-homicide-case, and that fear that they will all be eventually exposed, prosecuted and sentenced to life imprisonment, will haunt them till the end of their natural lives.

Social standing will not save Ahmed Suale's murderers either A case in point: During the  mid-1960s, a very popular politician at the time, a Dr. Ohene Djan, who had widespread appeal amongst young people, ended up in jail, for the murder of a night-watchman. So nothing is impossible, Ghanafuo.

Finally, the question that all Ghana's patriotic and independent-minded  media professionals ought to ponder over is: Should Tiger Eye's  Ahmed Suale not be honoured, by naming the Ghana International Press Centre, after him? Hmmmm, Oman Ghana - enti, yewieye  paaaa, enei? Asem kesie, bi, ebeba debi ankasa, ooooo.  Yooooo...

A Quick Note To Dr. Josiah Cobbah

Dear Doc,

One can feel your sense of disconcertion too. For your information, surprising though it might be for many to believe, sections of the Ghanaian media are indeed even more corrupt, than many of our nation's mostly-self-seeking political class, oooo, Massa. That is why the election-vote-auditing-issue you raise, is so important. Very.

If they had their wits about them, most honest and principled media professionals, in Ghana,  would recall what Hon. Atta Akyea, once said, in December 2008, when they were trying to get hold of Dr. Afari Djan, in the hope of getting him to 'assist' them win the run-off, of that year's presidential election.

It will be recalled that in a secretly-recorded  meeting, at the 'Command Centre' for that unholy enterprise (in a building located along Accra's Kojo Thompson Road), which was broadcast by the brilliant Raymond Archer, in his wlldly-popular 'Election Forensics' programme, on Radio Gold FM, Hon. Atta Akyea was heard calling for intelligence reports, on the whereabouts of the then Chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC), Dr. Afari Djan.

Listening to the whole recording, it was obvious that the inference any intelligent person listening to them, would draw, was that Atta Akyea & Co, sought Dr. Afari Djan,  in order to pay him whatever it took, to get him to 'help' them win the run-off of that year's presidential election. Alas, in the end, Afari Djan could not be located. And he did not play Kokofu-football, either. Good man.

It is said that leopards never change their spots. Atta Akyea also stressed the importance of ensuring cases going to court, went before the 'right judges'.

As has Hon. Ken Ofori-Atta, who, in a secret letter to his Cabinet colleagues, predicted that Papa Kwesi Nduom would fight the revocation of GN Bank's license, in the law courts, but that because they were in power, they would prevail there too.

And, quietely, the courts have been packed with Nana Addo's appointees, since January 2017. So, Massa, just put two and two together, wai. Then fast forward to today. Get the picture?  Hmmmm, Oman Ghana, eyeasem, oooo...

The plain truth, is that in reality, the current EC has been very, very  proficient in disseminating  fantasies-to-hide-procurement-breaches, in press conference after press conference. Why, you might wonder?

Ask the folk at IMANI Africa, wai, Massa. Small boys are  young. Their research on the subject is unrivalled. Full stop. Case closed. Sarjewah. Dan nyiremah. Yes, Mother Ghana most certainly deserves better, Massa. And, yes, it is indeed a national disgrace that the media has failed Ghana by not thinking of getting an accounting firm to count and tally all the votes in the December 2020 presidential and parliamentary elections. One concurs with that view. Hmmm, Oman Ghana - enti, yewieye paaaa, eneiiiiii?  Asem kesie, bi, ebeba  debi, ankasa, oooo.   Yoooooo...

A Quick Note To Members Of Ghana's Political Class

Amanfuo, what we need, is a government of national unity, made up of the finest minds from across the spectrum, to execute President Akufo-Addo's transformational-agenda. Simple.

Clearly, the vast majority of Ghanaians, like the down-to-earth-simplicity, of the incorruptible President Akufo-Addo - but abhor the insufferable arrogance of some of those around him. Case closed. That is why  it cannot be business as usual, in the President's second term, ooooo. Yoooooo...

President Akufo-Addo must remember  that it is his  legacy that the thieves-in-high-places are ruining with their greed and lack of principle. They must all go. Full stop. Yoooooo...

The President must sack all of them - for they nearly got him defeated:  when the whole world thought he  would win the presidential election by a landslide. It did not happen, did it?

As we all know, he won by a whisker instead - and skirt-and-blouse-vote-casting, reduced his  ruling party's parliamentary majority, and made them the 'minority', morally,  instead. Shame on them.

To quote an old wag I know: 'Kofi, as committed Pan-Africanists, we are right to loathe their vile-tribal-supremacist party, wai!' Although  I support President Akufo-Addo 100 percent, I agree wholeheartedly with the old wag - which is why I voted skirt-and-blouse. As did countless other voters.

Millions of Ghanaians are fed up with high-level-corruption. Obviously. The day of reckoning will soon come, for  all those participating in the ongoing brutal gang-rape, of Mother Ghana. Hmmm, Oman Ghana - enti yewieye paaaa, enei? Asem kesie, bi, ebeba  debi ankasa, ooooo.  Yooooooo...

Are The Heads Of Ghana's Security Agencies Laying Themselves Open To Possible Prosecution by the International Criminal Court?

Watching what is a very disturbing video, several times over, one refuses to believe that the 'soldiers' and 'police men' who shot live rounds of ammunition, into the crowd, at the Techiman South constituency collation centre, on the evening of 7th December 2020, were genuine soldiers and genuine police men

They prostituted  the honour of the profession-of-arms, and must be condemned in the strongest possible terms. They are cowards and murderers, who must be prosecuted.

Bush-telegraph sources allege that   they are from the  selfsame units of the national security apparatus deployed to the Presbyterian Primary School  polling station, during the Ayawaso West Wogan by-election, occasioned by the death of the late Kyremateng Agyarko.

Shooting into a crowd is a crime against humanity. Vile. Abominable. Unspeakable. Atrocious. Monstrous. Unpardonable.

Ghanaian media: Over to you, Joe Lartey! This is a clear-cut case of silence being complicit in crimes-against-humanity, ooooo. Posterity can neither be intimidated, nor bribed.

History will judge  those who recruited Delta Force and Invincible Forces' myrmidon-thugs into the national security apparatus, harshly.  No question.

The question is: By continuing to appear to be adopting a three-monkeys-stance on this matter (see no evil, hear no evil, say nought, on the recruitment of myrmidon-thugs from the Delta Force and Invincible Forces into the national security apparatus  issue, instead of demanding that they are all sacked), are the IGP, and Military High  Command, opening themselves to possible prosecution by the International Criminal Court (ICC), anaaaa? Enough is enough. Hmmm, Oman Ghana - enti yewieye, paaaaa, enei? Asem kesie bi, ebeba debi ankasa, oooo. Yoooooooo...

A Quick Note To The Patriotic And More Responsible Sections Of The Ghanaian Media

Amazing how the best-laid-plans,  of clever-people-in-power, are laid bare, and ruined, by the all-seeing, all-hearing and all-knowing Lord God Almighty's miraculous-interventions. The Question to ponder over is: Did the heavens open up, and let torrential rains destroy a plan to rig the 7th December, 2020 elections, anaaaa?

Who didn't think that today's masters-of-the-universe, would be romping home to an easy victory, and walk all over the National Democratic Congress (NDC), by now? It did not happen. Instead, the haughty-people now in power, have  rather been hoisted on their own collective-petard. Sarjewah. The sods. Dan nyirema.

The questiom is: Did our loving God Almighty, refuse to be bribed, with a stunning National Cathedral, because he did not like PDS, Agyapa Royalties, the BOST, TOR and other egregious-scandalous-scandals, and the commission-generating piling-up of loan-upon-loan, ruining the futures of unborn generations, anaaaaa? Onyame, entise Alata ni, ooooo. Yoooooo...

Clearly, ordinary Ghanaians are underestimated, at the peril of tribal-supremacist and power-drunk would-be-little-emperors, who brook no opposition, and are super-vindictive, ooooo. Yooooooo...

Be that as it may, the people have now spoken. Clearly. Loudly. Boldly. Case closed. They do not want an imperial-presidency, because they are not conquered-and-stupid-serfs. Full stop. Let wise politicos learn that lesson swiftly, ooooo. Yooooooo...

In light of the strange election outcome, one hopes that the IGP, and the Military High Command, learnt big lessons, from the near-disaster they averted, at that emergency-durbar, in Michel Camp, when a senior military NCO, in uniform, was recently brutalised by the selfsame myrmidon-thugs-in-uniform, who disgraced their predecessors-in-office, during the Ayawaso West Wogan by-election, oooooo. Yoooooo...

To quote an old wag I know: 'Kofi, one refers to the myrmidon-thugs-in-uniform, recruited into the national security apparatus, by you-know-who-and-who, whom bush-telegraph sources allege were kitted out for the 7th December, 2020 elections, as soldiers.

Apparently, they were allegedly deployed to execute the Ayawaso West Wogan plan, nationwide, for the 2020 presidential and parliamentary elections, and were thus rushed to that constituency collating-centre of infamy, which has ended up now throwing a biggish-wrench-in-the-works, ooooo.

In light of all the above, one hopes that the very wise current IGP, and the super-sharp Military High Command, will not end up unwittingly backing what in effect is a failed constitutionally-cloaked-coup, which was nearly secured by multiple-bribery, said to be running into trillions of tired-old-Ghana-cedis, ooooo, Massa. Yooooooo...'  End of story. Case closed. Enough is enough. Ghana is not a conquered vassal state, oooo. And the masses are not stupid-serfs, ooooo. Yooooooo...

A Quick Note To An Anti-Corruption Campaigner

Massa, should Ghana's anti-corruption campaigners  prepare for a coming nightmare, anaaa? As it happens, not many of us  have taken note of the packing of the law courts, by today's regime. It is part of their grand-strategy-of-perpetual-domination, wai. Hmmmm, Oman Ghana, eyeasem, oooo...

That is what gave the minister of finance, Hon. Ken Ofori-Atta,  the confidence, to predict, to his Cabinet colleagues, in a secret memo, that  although the revocation of the banking licence of their political opponent, Papa Kwesi Nduom, would provoke him to challenge it in the law courts,  because they were now in power, they would prevail there too. Eeiiiii, Ghana, paaaa enei  - are these the same politicos  whom we thought were believers in the rule of law, aanaaaa? Hmmmm...

Now it turns out they are sodden plutocrats. Sarjewah. Go to court, you say?  Massa, the courts don't  dare incur the displeasure, of the hydra-headed familial-appointing-authority, ooooo.  You, paaaa. Go to court. Hmmm. Yoooooo...

If you haven't noticed it, yet,  a well-thought-through tyranny-of-the-majority, has been silently established, by a secretive and super-ruthless-cabal, with deceit and hypocrisy in their political-DNA. We ain't seen nothing yet. Just wait. After 7th January, 2021, you will smell pepper.

Despite the 'gift'  that COVID-19 gave reformers in Ghana, we allowed the respectable-looking thieves-in-high-places (who came to power because Ghanaians believed they would end egregious-high-level-corruption, if elected, but have however subsequently  emerged, incredibly, as the greediest and most corrupt administration, thus far, since the 4th Republic came into being), to keep the fight against the egregious-corruption ruining our nation, and eroding public trust, in the democratic system   of government, clean off the election-campaign-narrative-table. Amazing.

Forget about the NDC's victory-fantasies, ooooo, Massa. Take it from me: The respectable-looking thieves-in-high-places, will romp home, to a stunning victory, tomorrow, wai. They will wipe out the out-foxed NDC, in the process, and go on to grow even yet more super-wealthy, sending their net worth to stratospheric heights.

And, it will all be done legally, through the clever bending-of-rules, simply by railroading bills through a pliant and cowed Parliament -  as the lords-and-masters of their very successful tyranny-of-the-majority: obtained by pork-barrel-politicking, which delivered their mandate (courtesy of the opposition-flattening nationwide adulatory-gale-force-winds, of free-SHS), ride roughshod over all of us  Cool.

Massa, matter, go come, paaaaapa, ooooo, after 7th January 2020,  wai. PDS. Agyapa Royalties. Elite-state-capture commision-earning loan-upon-loan. Prepare for the coming yenti-gyai-nightmare, ooooo, Yoooooo...

Why Did The Ghanaian Media Allow The Fight Against Corruption To Be Taken Off The Campaign-Narrative-Table?

The  contesting presidential candidates of the ruling  New Patriotic Party (NPP), President Akufo-Addo, and the biggest opposition party, the National Democratic Congress' (NDC) leader, former President John Drama Mahama, have finally committed to ensuring peaceful  elections, on the 7th of December, 2020.

It is marvellous that both gentlemen have now signed a peace pact. As a result of that positive-development,  even before votes are cast on 7th December, 2020, Mother Ghana has already won election 2020. Nice. Cool.

Yet, despite the platitudes that will doubtless flow, aplenty, from that event, sadly, there is still the not-inconsequential-matter, of the  unedifying spectacle, of the  NPP/NDC duopoly's many eleventh-hour press conference shouting equalisation-counter-accusation-wars, for our nation to deal with.

On the positive side, what those astonishing equalisation-press-conferences clearly confirm, is that as a result of lessons from the COVID-19 global pandemic, we have now reached a juncture in our history, when shared-prosperity, underpinned by world-class healthcare-for-all, free world-class education from kindergarten to tertiary-level, as well as truly affordable, well-designed and well-built housing, for all who need it, is now a given, for competing political parties to include in their election manifestos. Ditto world-class infrastructure, such as roads, railways, ports, green clean-power plants etc., etc.

Alas, what is missing from all the hot air, is the very important matter, of how to end the high-level corruption, which enables powerful and respectable-looking thieves-in-high-places, to keep on  purloining the nation-building-resources needed to pay for all the above - that will contribute to the transformation of our country, into a prosperous and equitable society: in which all demographics enjoy some of the highest standards of living, anywhere, on the surfce of planet Earth.

In light of all the above, the question we must all ponder over is: How did it come about that the Ghanaian media, allowed what should have been the main focus of the election campaign - how to fight and end the high-level corruption slowly destroying Ghanaian democracy - to be successfully taken off the campaign-narrarive-table, by our mostly-devious and oft-self-seeking politicians?  Hmmm, Oman Ghana, eyeasem, oooo. Enti yewieye paaaaa enei? Asem kesie bi, ebeba debi ankasa, ooooo.   Yoooooooo...

Should President Akufo-Addo Declare The Atewa Forest Reserve A National Park - And Ban All Mining From It?

Hon. Martin Amidu's lazy-lawyers'-jibe, at the Presidency, ought to be taken seriously, oooo, Ghanafuo. Every disastrous flip-flop-decision, taken since January 7th, 2017, can be traced directly to it. As can most exposed regime-insider-scandals. Mother Ghana deserves better.

That jibe sums up perfectly, the Presidency's rampant, and lethal, arrogant-preening-narcissistic-peacock-syndrone (which, as Lady Luck would have it, President Akufo-Addo  is immune to, personally, thank goodness).

It is causing Ghana's farsighted, and incorruptible leader, President Akufo-Addo's impressive legacy, thus far, endless harm. For the sake of our nation, the Presidency needs to be disinfected, thoroughly, to rid it of the miasma of this insidious nation-wrecking-airborne-poison. Fast. Yoooooo...

Above all, those now-powerful-and-invincible individuals, in the current administration, who seem to think that Ghana is a conquered vassal-state (beholden to those in power today), which is full of subservient-serfs, with the mentality of idiots, must quickly revise their playbook's notes. Yooooooo...

On the contrary, Ghanaians are a very wise, and noble, African people, with the patience needed to outwit those who seek to  harm them. No politician  must take Ghanaians for granted, ooooo.  Yoooooo...

That is why President Akufo-Addo must not allow bauxite mining to be carried out in the Atewa Forest Reserve. It is an abomination that future generations will curse his regime, and condemn it,  roundly,  for. Yooooooo...

Destroying a Globally Significant Biodiversity Area (GSBA), which is also a watershed for three major river systems (the Birim, Ayensu and  Densu rivers), sourced for water to treat, and, distribute, to over 5 million people across southern Ghana, is a crime against humanity. Nothing more, nothing less.  Full stop.

That is why a farsighted  and courageous leader, like  President Akufo-Addo,  must rather ignore all his advisors in this particular matter - and go ahead to declare the Atewa Forest Reserve,  a national park:  and ban all mining, from  what is pricelees natural capital, which can serve as a solid green economic pillar, to underpin a lucrative ecotourism destination, which will generate wealth that remains locally, and create jobs galore, for  Akyem Abuakwa' younger generations. Okyeman, yen, enma ensei da, oooo. Yoooooo...

The time has now come for President Akufo-Addo  to declare the Atewa Forest Reserve a national park - and ban all mining and logging from It. Full stop. Hmmm, Oman Ghana - enti yeweiye paaa enei? Asem kesie, bim ebeba debi, ankasa, oooo. Yoooooo...

To Safeguard Ghanaian Democracy Should Ghana's Present-Day Media-Empires Be Broken Up?

The Ghanaian media failed Mother Ghana, terribly, when they refused to see the importance of swiftly denouncing the appointment of Hon. Yaw Osafo Marfo, as Senior Minister, by President Akufo-Addo. Bush-telegraph sources, apparently have it, that the nest-of-vipers at the presidency, allegedly responsible for the Agyapa Royalties rip-off, can be laid squarely at Yaw Osafo Marfo's sodden doorstep.

In not denoucing his appointment, it as was if a Klu Klux Klan admirer, and an avowed and proud extreme-Hitlerite, had been appointed as Senior Minister, and Deputy Prime Minister, by the British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson - and the British media had remained loudly-silent about it. Incredible.

Any Ghanaian politician, who is a secret tribal-supremacist (and there are far too many of them, in our system, for comfort, if truth be told), isn't fit to be included in the  leadership of our multi-ethnic country. Ever. Full stop.

In today's Africa, no tribe is superior or inferior, to another. It is time the more responsible sections of the Ghanaian media understood that clearly. Media professionals must stop enabling such divisive-characters, if ours is to remain a stable and peaceful African multi-party democracy.  Yooooooo...

Another lesson we must learn from the ongoing pure-nonsense-on-bamboo-stilts, in  today's Ghana, is that we must unbundle all the  media  empires in our country, without exception. No question. Yoooooooo...

The concentration of media, in the hands of a few wealthy individuals - some with dubious backgrounds  -  has enabled a number of media entities in our country,  to become the enablers of tribal-supremacist politicians. Disgraceful. Abominable. Unspeakable. Unpardonable.

Finally, the question we must all ponder over is:  To safeguard our democracy, should all our country's present-day media-empires be broken up?  With the greatest respect, in one's humble view, they ought to be broken up, without exception. Quickly. No question. No individual must be allowed to own controlling stakes, in more than one media outlet. Full stop. Hmmmm,  Oman Ghana,  eyeasem, oooo. Enti, yeweiye paaaa, enei? Asem kesie, bi, ebaba debi, ankasa, ooooo. Yooooooo...

Martin Amidu Must Be Protected And Kept Safe - By All The Good People In Our Homeland Ghana

Ghanaians are a wise and  aspirational African people, committed to maintaining their democratic system, at all cost. That is one of the reasons, why we must all ensure that Hon. Martin Amidu continues to  remain safe, and is given round the clock protection.

Without principled individuals, and the patriotic civil society organisations that boldly speak truth to power, in the fight to rid Ghanaian society of egregious-high-level-corruption, we will eventually end up becoming an enslaved people, beholden to greedy and powerful ruthless-criminal-types.

It is said that those who fail to learn from the past, are condemned to make the same mistakes. In light of the recent revealations by Martin Amidu, Ghanaians must learn from the fate of the Odikro of Apedwa, Nana Akyea Mensah, who was murdered in 1943, by Akyem Abuakwa's ruling elites, after the death of the then Okyenhene, Nana Ofori-Atta 1,  during the British colonial era.

Nana Amyea Mensah, sealed his own fate,  when he warned his fellow royals, during an emergency  meeting of the Akyem Abuakwa State Council, after the death of Nana Ofori-Atta 1, that under no circumstances should there be any unlawful conduct, on their part (i.e. resorting to ritual murder in any of the funeral rites for Ofori-Atta 1), lest they  incur the wrath of the British colonial authorities.

He also told them that he was also aware of corruption that had gone on, during the reign of Nana Ofori-Atta 1, and that at the appropriate time he would demand the rendering of  accounts, of all the monies that had been misappropriated, during the rule of Nana Ofori-Atta 1. He became a marked man from then onwards.

After his departure from that tempestous emergency meeting, the other royals, who had earlier heard Nana Akyea Mensah's demand for accountability, and his vociferous insistence on lawful conduct, as regards the late Okyehene's funeral rites, resolved to silence him, by murdering him  (to accompany Nana Ofori-Atta 1, on his journey to the land of his ancestors, as 'tradition' demanded, and kill two birds with one stone, so to speak).

In light of all the above, it is vital that patriotic and discerning Ghanaians, collaborate,  and work together, with Hon. Martin Amidu, to provide him with enough bodyguards, to assure  round-the-clock-security for him,  while at home, and wherever he goes, henceforth.

Finally, to be fair to President Akufo-Addo, it is crucial that former U.S. President Obana, is appraised of the looting that has allegedly gone on, in Ghana, since Nana Akufo-Addo came to power, in January 2017,  as soon as is practical. Obama will ensure that the relevant U.S. government agencies, move quickly, to investigate the ruthless and greedy thieves-in-high-places, now said to be busy looting our homeland Ghana,  brazenly, and shamelessly. The sods. In the meantime, the brave and patriotic Martin Amidu, must be protected, and kept safe, by all the good people in our homeland Ghana. Enough is enough. Haaba.

A Quick Note To Brenda Thonsgaard Odhiambo - My Dear Texan Sister-In-Christ

Bless you, dear sister-in-Christ. Thanks for sharing. Those were  definitely some of the most beautiful chrysanthemums ever.  I have a very interesting history, with them, as it happens.

They were one of the most popular potted plants we sold, in a farm shop, which I co-owned, along London's Goldhawk Road (The Apple Man, 114 Goldhawk Road, London W12), once upon a time, during the heady Thatcherite-yuppy-years. Ditto foxgloves and African violets.

It was a very popular shop, which specialised in selling fresh organic produce, and products, from the Weald of England, Kent, where my business partner, a half-Jewish English gentleman (one of the few individuals at the time who owned a village green, Goddard's Green), owned apple orchards.

Our shop, 'The Apple Man  -  London's first farm shop', was regularly supplied with varieties of old English  apples, such as Egremont Russets, Scarlet Pimpernels, Jonagold, Coxes, and Crispins - all grown organically, and sold at the very affordable and ungeard of price, of 10p per lb, or £3 for 30lb boxes.

Because it was near the Virgin Music recording studios, The Townhouse, we had pop stars like Boy George and Frankie Goes to Hollywood, coming in to buy apples, homemade organic jams and single-variety apple juices.

The BBC's Lime Grove Studios, were also close by, and we had a clutch of television  producers, such as Katherine Seddon, and anchors,  also shopping at The Apple Man. Ditto lots of yuppies from the City of London, as regulars.

At Christmas time, we sold living Christmas trees in large pots - selling them in the hundreds, weekly. Those were the days, my friend. If only we had registered the 'Apple Man', name, then. The mind boggles. Talk about missed opportunities. Hmmm, life...

A Quick Note To Hon. Kojo Yankah - Who Has Been Reading Documents From The Office Of The Special Prosecutor

Massa, God Almighty truly loves Mother Ghana, ooooo, wai. The election of Joe Biden as the next American leader,  presents all Africa's anti-corruption campaigners, with a unique opportunity, to quickly rid the continent of its small army-of-looters (the respectable-looking thieves-in-high-places), currently in power, and  robbing African nations of their wealth, so ruthlessly, wai, Massa.

I can bet you my last worthless Ghana cedi that Ghana's current cohort of  arrogant-thieves-in-high-places, are definitely frightened of the possible consequences of their being investigated, and blacklisted, by U.S. anti-corruption agencies, wai.

Those patriotic civil society organisations (CSOs), and media professionals, in Ghana, uniting to halt the single-minded, stealth-asset-stripping of the enterprise Ghana, must now focus on getting former President Obama, to take this matter up, quickly, on their behalf, in the corridors-of-power,  in Biden's Washington DC,   oooo. Yooooo...

Ditto the  concerned environmental activists fighting to halt the abomination, which mining bauxite in the Atewa Forest Reserve, represents (such as Awula Serwah's Eco-Conscious Citizens Group), who should also move quickly, to contact the new U.S. climate-change Czar, John Kerry, and get him to act swiftly to halt that crime against humanity, asap. Yoooooo...

It is their best opportunity of getting the Atewa Forest Reserve finally declared a national park, and having all mining banned from what is a designated Globally Significant Biodiversity Area (GSBA). Massa, Onyame enti se, alata ni, oooo, wai. Every day for thief-man, but one fine day, Master's hour, too, go come, wai. For sure. Who born dog? Haaba.

Has The Ghanaian Media Failed Mother Ghana Miserably - By Not Protecting The Nation In Her Hour Of Greatest Need?

Ghana has enough resources to enable it transform itself into a prosperous, and equitable society, in which all demographics live extremely well, and enjoy some of the highest living standards in the world.

Despite our abundant resources, our beautiful motherland, Ghana, still remains a hell-on-earth,  for millions, across the country. The reason is simple: The resources needed to transform our nation, continue to be looted, by respectable-looking, and greed-filled thieves-in-high-places, ruthlessly asset-stripping the enterprise Ghana, by stealth.

The 2020 presidential and parliamentary elections, presented the Ghanaian media with the perfect opportuniy, to demand, on society's behalf, a commitment from campaigning politicians, and political parties, interacting with them,  to halt the high-level corruption that has bedevilled the 4th Republic, ever since the 1992 Constitution was promulgated.

As we are all aware, high-level corruption in Ghana, has steadily grown and become ever more pervasive and entrenched. Now it has reached a point where, the New Patriotic Party (NPP), which, while in the political wiilderness, led Ghanaians to think that it would end corruption, if given the opportunity to govern the nation, has, as we speak, today ended up as the most corrupt regime, ever, in the entire history of the 4th Republic, despite being led by a politician widely acknowledged, as one of the most incorruptible public figures, ever, thus far (our hardworking and visionary leader), present-day President of our benighted Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

President Akufo-Addo's personal integrity and incorruptibility notwithstanding, Ghana under the NPP, has had  a litany of egregious public procurement scandals, such as the PDS and Agyapa Royalties transactions, which no one thought could possibly occur, under an administration led by President Akufo-Addo.

The question is: In light of all the above, would the presidential and parliamentary elections, not have been the perfect opportunity, for the fourth pillar of our democratic system, the Ghanaian media, to play its watchdog  role, effectively,  by forcing campaigning politicians interacting with them, to commit to effective anti-corruption-measures, such as passing new anti-corruption laws, giving prosecutorial powers, to Ghana's Auditors General, for example?

For failing to grab the opportunity to get campaigning politicians interacting publicly, with them, to commit to protect public funds from respectable-looking thieves-in-high-places, if elected, by stopping them robbing Mother Ghana, in broad daylight, the Ghanaian media has failed miserably, to protect our nation, and its hapless citizens, when it mattered most:  with the December 7th 2020 presidential and parliamentary polls voting-day looming fast. Shame on them!

A Quick Note To Eugene Kofi Boakye-Yiadom - On The Matter Of #IStandWithMartinAlamisiBenzKaiserAmidu

Favourite nephew, I too support #IStandWithMartinAlamsiBenzKaiserAmidu. However, speaking as  someone who has  unashamedly supported President Akufo-Addo, 100 percent, from day one, till this dreadful tragedy for our nation occurred,  only one question currently exercises my mind.

The question I am now pondering over is: Has President Akufo-Addo actually ever personally 'interfered' with Hon. Martin Amidu's work, directly, anaaaa?

The follow up question then is: Or, is it the case, perhaps, that this unfortunate situation (from the point of view of his legacy), is the egregious-culmination, of the many treasonable-ultra-vires-actions, of some of  those power-drunk-individuals, around him - who have  allegedly constantly usurped some of his powers (apparently from the very early days of his  presidency, according to bush-telegraph sources), and presented him with countless faits accomplis?

Whatever be the case, I am traumatised, and feel very sorry for Mother Ghana, and, on a purely human level, for President Akufo-Addo too - who appears to be caught between a rock, and a very, very hard place, in this nepotistic-monstrousity, gone horribly wrong. Hmmm, eyeasem, oooo.

Why, at the onset of his presidency, did the president not warn all his family members, to keep their noses clean, at all material times, during his tenure, koraaaa - as he would let the law take its course if they messed up: as would be the case for every other Ghanaian citizen, in similar circumstances? Massa, na wa, ooooo.

Finally, we live in dangerous times, paaaapa, ooooo, favourite nephew. We need to be prayerful for that reason, wai. Our ruling-elites, need to understand clearly that transparency and accountability, are non-negotiable good governance principles, which the vast majority of the good people of Ghana, are no longer willing to be compromising  over, koraaaa,  ooooo, Massa. No one involved in corruption will be able to get away with it. Full stop. Hmmm, Oman Ghana, enti yewieye, paaaa enei? Asem kesie bi, ebeba, debi ankasa, ooooo.  Yoooooo...

Should Discerning And Independent-Minded Ghanaians Take The PPP More Seriously?

Ghanaians must take the very capable presidential candidate of the Progressive People's Party's (PPP), Ms. Brigitte Dzogbenuku, and her very, very clever and able young team of aides, Mr. Kofi Owusu, her running mate, and Mr. Kwaku Bio, the party's lead-researcher, seriously, ooooo. Yooooooo...

They appeared on a GTV/National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) election programme, for about half an hour, which ended a moment ago,  and blew my mind. Wow.

Most God-fearing Ghanaians eould posit that it is poetic justice that it is the PPP, which has demolished all the self-serving, sleight-of-hand treacherous-reasons, given by those in the Akufo-Addo adminstration, who want to be indemnified from prosecution, and allowed  to also get away with zilch-regulatory-scrutiny, and national-interest-oversight, by Parliament, in being allowed to use the U.S.$200 million annual gold royalties, as cash for a Jersey-domiciled blank-cheque-company, to fund backdoor-opaque-gold-mining-sector-IPOs.

Ghanafuo, the most creative suggestion, thus far, for the best use of the U.S.$200 million annual gold royalties, which today's dishonest-people-in-high-places, so desparately want to be allowed to hijack, and enrich themselves, by stealth, with, has now come from the PPP's vice presidential candidate, Mr. Kofi Owusu: ring-fence it to fund the construction of a network of  strategically-important tolled-dualised-motorways, linking the southern half of Ghana, to the northern part. Wow. Massa, brilliance be what! Cool.

Honourable Abaas Fuseini Sbaabe: President Akufo-Addo Is Actually Incorruptible

Honourable Abaas Fuseini Sbaabe, take it from me, President Akufo-Addo is indeed an incorruptible leader. Full stop.

Massa, you know perfectly well that every Ghanaian President, though vested with so much power, is, in many ways, at the  mercy of people around him, who sometimes can act in his name, and present him with a fait accompli.

It is particularly pronounced in the Akufo-Addo administration, for a number of reasons, chief amongst which, is the egregious-greed, which drives some of those close to him. Mahama, similarly, was a tool in the hands of arrogant people, like the Stan Dogbes, at times, while in office  as Ghana's President. Full stop.

Massa, if our dear departed friend, and brother, Alhaji Bature, were alive, he would confirm to you that I always told him that those controlling the NDC, were playing with the power, which their party had won the hard way. Their insouciance, and smug-complacency, never failed to amaze me.

This is the COVID-19 era, oooo, Massa. Today, we face an existential threat, no less. With the greatest respect, in terms of leadership-qualities, former  President John Mahama, is not the co-equal of President Akufo-Addo, koraaaa, ooooo. Yoooooo...

In that sense, former President Mahama is much more like Vice President Bawumia: a man from a wealthy background, who has never suffered,  in life, before, and thinks politics is a tenure-long-chilling-party.

Well, actually, it isn't. Life, as you very well know, as a self-made man of substance, is pretty tough, for  most ordinary people in our country. Sadly, both former President Mahama, and Vice President Muhammadu Bawumia, are not serious men. In the COVID-19 era, Ghanaians and their nation,  desparately need serious leaders. Period.

On the nation-wrecking issue, of high-level corruption, in the present administration, quite  frankly, anyone who thinks President Akufo-Addo, is a corrupt man, busy stealing taxpayers' money, by stealth, somehow, hasn't the faintest idea, what that great leader's personal qualities, actually are, koraaaa, ooooo.

In light of the threat COVID-19 poses to our homeland Ghana, speaking personally, I support President Akufo-Addo 100 percent. As for the respectable-thieves-in-high-places, around him, who frustrated Hon. Martin Amidu, so, and think they will get away with their greed, Massa, they lie bad, oooo,  abi. They will all pay for their crimes against the good people of Ghana, as sure as day follows night.  For sure. In any case, one wishes you well, as always. Peace and blessings to you. Cool.

A Quick Note To Peter Awoonor-Renner - A Longstanding Compatriot From My Surjourn In The UK

Thanks for sharing, Peter. Unfortunately, because he was not an intellectual, Former President Rawlings, though a highly-intelligent man, was often denigrated by some of Ghana's smug middle-class intellectual-types, despite the fact that his mercurial-leadership-style actually made a huge difference, for our nation, and its hapless, and oft-ruthlessly-exploited citizenry.

It is so easy to criticise leaders on the continent, Peter, but one needs to point out the fact that although Ghanaians are a civilised people, some of their crafty-and-disobedient ways, often make our country an especially difficult nation to govern, alas. That is why our leaders invariably have their work cut for them. Pity.

It will interest you to know that Nii Addy, former President Rawlings' elder brother, who predeceased him, and  who lived at Adjirigano, opposite the French School, and worked for the Mormon Church, once told my late girlfriend, Akwele Ali, and I, during a visit we paid to him in his East Legon home, that at a certain stage,  President Rawlings read the riot act to  his family members.

Long story short: they had to make sure that they always kept their noses clean - because any of them who messed up, had to understand clearly that he would not rescue them from their own folly, but that they would suffer the selfsame punishment,  which fellow Ghanaians who broke Ghana's laws, faced.  That was Jerry Rawlings for you. Never  minced his  words. Cool.

The softly-spoken Nii Addy proudly told us President Rawlings had never had cause to worry about him. We both knew what a good soul, and honest gentleman, Nii Addy was, and it did not come as a surprise to us, at all, that he had kept his nose clean - just as his dear younger brother wanted. Lovely man.

President Akufo-Addo needs to do same to those sly, greed-filled family members of his, who are busy disgracing  him, and ruining his legacy, such as it is, with their sly-and-corrupt ways. If only they were all like the hardworking and no-nonsense Hon. Kwasi Amoako-Atta, the roads and highways minister. Hmmmm, eyeasem, ooooo...

In showing such respect to the memory of President Rawlings, by: declaring a seven-day national mourning period for the former President; ordering Ghana's flag to be flown at half-mast throughout the seven-day mourning period;  receiving Rawlings' surviving family members to the Jubilee House; and following that up, by calling at President Rawlings'  official residence at the Ridge residential area, in turn,  to pay his personal condolences to former President Rawlings' grieve-stricken widow, Naana Konadu Agyemang-Rawlings, his lovely children, and favourites amongst his closest extended  family members,  President Akufo-Addo has shown the world what a civilised and compassionate leader he is. Great man. Cool.

President Akufo-Addo, it ought to be pointed out, is also one of the most outstanding leaders, our nation has had, thus far, since independence in 1957. In my humble view, he definitely deserves a second term,  to enable him to continue his transformative agenda, that is laying a solid foundation, for a prosperous tomorrow, for Ghana's  dynamic  and ambitious younger generations. Cool.

Finally, and just as a matter of interest, was that photograph of yours, which you  took  with President Rawlings, shot during your dear Mama's funeral? Let's stay in touch, dear boy. Wish you well, as always. Peace and blessings to you, and to your young family - and do continue staying safe from COVID-19. You are precious to some of us, oooooo, Massa. Cool.

A Quick Note To Obaa Paaapabi Yaa Kwramah - Who Hosts UTV's Adyenkyi Nsoroma

Ohemaa Paapabi Yaa Kwramah, please point it out to the-oft-reckless  Owusu Bempahs of our nation's feckless political world, that the English  phrase: 'Violence begets violence', is not an invitation to engage in violence, wai. Case closed. Haaba.

Massa, that simple phrase, is, on the contrary, sound advice from wise individuals  -  pointing out the fact that violence is counter-productive and pointless  (especially when such advice is  directed at the myrmidon-thugs employed by rogue-politicians to cause mayhem across Ghana)  -  and is consequently therefore best avoided. Simple. Haaba.

There are far too  many Ignorant-loudmouthed-sods, in Ghana's political world  -  who must not be allowed to continue making up their own daft-and-erraneous-meanings, of  idiomatic English phrases, and get away with that nonsensical-carrying-on. Not when they  arrogantly inflict them on society's younger generations, on national television, ooooo. Who born dog? Haaba. Ghanaian poiiticians, yabre mu, oooo. Yooooo...

A Quick Note To God Almighty - For A Miracle To Make The Assembling In Ghana Of The Global Vehicle Trust's Ox All-Terrain Cross Country Vehicle Possible

Dear God Almighty,

For the sake  of all rural Ghana's long-suffering sundry-demographics, please open the eyes of the geniuses who make up our potentially very, very wealthy nation's political class, in this crucial mobility-matter, ooooo, wai, Awurade Nyame ahhh wu entise Alata ni.

Lord God Almighty, that is why  today, one prays that you will finally empower all our country's politicians (from across the spectrum!), to see in their minds' eyes, the dramatic transformation, which will be wrought, right across rural Ghana, if the Global Vehicle Trust (GVT), assembles the amazing Ox all-terrain cross-country vehicle, in our homeland Ghana.

Lord God Almighty, we pray that you will bless a joint-venture partnership, between Neoplan Ghana Limited, and all the transport  unions in Ghana, on one side, and the Global Vehicle Trust (GVT), the 1-D-1-F Secretariat and the Ghana Export and Import Bank (Exim Bank), on the other, to assemble the world-beating Ox -  because you know that it is the perfect workhorse,  to enable our aspirational-society, finally  cope effortlessly, with our dreadful pothole-riddled-countryside-roads effectively, no matter how abominable a state they might be in, across vast swathes of our countryside areas.

For such a miracle, we thank you profusely, in advance, dear Lord God Almighty.

Amen!

From your humble servant,

Kofi.

A Quick Note To President Akufo-Addo - Urging Him To Declare The Atewa Forest A National Park: And Ban All Mining In It

Dear President Akufo-Addo,

With the greatest respect, please ignore  all the advisors who are urging you to go ahead with plans to mine bauxite, in the Atewa Forest Reserve. Sir, in effect, what they are asking you to allow to happen,  is an abomination that  will destroy priceless natural capital, which  is also a unique upland evergreen rainforest, designated a Globally Significant Biodiversity Area (GSBA), as well as a vital watershed providing vital  life-sustaining ecosystem services, for millions.

The question is: Why threaten a rare and unique upland evergreen rainforest, which is a watershed area for three major river systems (the Densu, the Birim and the Ayensu rivers), and strategically important  eco-systems-provider, national-security-wise, from which the treated water, supplied daily, to over 5 million people, across southern Ghana,  is sourced for treatment, by the Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL)? Sir, to destroy it by allowing mining in it, will make future generations curse you.

Sir, in reality, as things currently stand, you are simply being urged on to what is a dangerous loser's-path, which, will, as sure as day follows night,  lead you to being judged rarher harshly, by Posterity. For those of us who support you 100 percent, without any reservations, that will be a most unfortunate and unecessary odevelopment - for, it will definitely deny you a well-deserved place in the Pantheon of the 21 century's greatest leaders, based on your record today.

Sir, why risk sullying your very, very impressive legacy, thus far, when, as a viable alternative (to the planned apocalyptic-destructon of the Atewa Forest Reserve, by allowing its bauxite deposits, to be mined!), your administration could actually create an integrated West African aluminium industry, which would enhance the stability of our sub-region, by including Liberia, Guinea and Sierra Leone, as sources of bauxite supplies?

Mr. President, with the greatest respect, as the current chairperson of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), would it not be to your eternal credit, to be seen to be helping to create wealth that stays locally,  and generate jobs galore, for young people in Ghana,  Liberia, Guinea and Sierra Leone, during your tenure as ECOWAS chairperson? Sir, ignore all your advisors - and go ahead to declare the Atewa Forest  Reserve as a national park and ban all mining in it. Case closed.

Should We Continue To Allow Morally-Bankrupt, Corrupt And Unprincipled Individuals To Lead Our Homeland Ghana?

“The pandemic is seen as a political campaign with huge promises and slogans. The virus does not tweet back or send out press releases. We just need some truthfulness, transparency about the data and the outcomes and decision making … Greater understanding gives greater trust and greater adherence for what we want people to do.”

                -    Sir John Oldham  (Adjunct professor in global health innovation, at Imperial College, London, and former leader of large-scale change, at the UK's  Department of Health.)

I was saddened, earlier this morning, when I viewed a viral video, featuring a furious, and, clearly-traumatised young lady (a Ms.Tracy Boakye, said to be a celebrity, and a brilliant film-maker), angrily reading the riot-act, to that bush and loudmouthed, nouveau-riche politician, Hon. Kennedy Adjapong. Good for her to teach these morons a useful lesson. Haaba.

As a mostly-decent, and civilised African people, the question we need to ponder over  is: Has the moral fabric of Ghanaian society, eroded, to the point, where, today, although we are so clearly governend by arrogant, corrupt,  lascivious old men, sans-moral-compasses, our ruling elites  are still given free-passes, by an equally corrupt, mostly-clueless and third-rate cohort, of so-called  media professionals:  who have so clearly abondoned their calling, and avowed-mission, to serve  as Ghanaian society's fearless-watchdogs, anaaaaa? Yoooooo...

Furthermore,  in calling out those arrogant serial-philanders (ace-hypocrites to a man, incidentally), who appeared on the centre-stage-podium, during the irresponsible, and  massive, New Patriotic Party (NPP), COVID-19-protocols-defying campaign-rally, organised by those now controlling that party's Bantama constituency, has the brave and fearless African-Amazon-Queen-type, the Yaa Asantewaa-like-figure, Tracy Boakye, not raised important good-governance-issues, which our equally mostly-corrupt media professionals, strangely continue to refuse, to bring to the attention of the good people of Ghana, anaaaaa?

Finally, yet another valid-question we must also all  ponder over is: Should we continue to allow morally-bankrupt, corrupt and unprincipled  individuals, to lead our homeland Ghana, anaaaaa?  Hmmmm, Oman Ghana -eyeasem ooooo: enti yewieye paaaaa enei? Asem kesie bi, ebeba debi, ankasa, oooooo. Yoooooooo...

A Quick Note To The Geniuses In Charge Of Ghana's Best-In-The-World National Security Apparatus

Recently, I visited my family's freehold 14-square mile upland evergreen rainforest property, at  Akyem Juaso. Today, I am publicly sharing my key observation, from that trip - and hope that it  will appear on the radar screens, of all those tasked with ensuring the safety of our Republic,  and assuring the personal security, of all who lawfully reside within the borders of Ghana

To begin with, for the information of those directed by President Akufo-Addo's administration, to search for, and retrieve, all the missing  excavators seized from illegal gold miners, across the Ghanaian countryside,  by the anti-galamsey task-forces, there are three excavators  hidden in my family's Akyem Juaso upland evergreen rainforest property, allegedly by Hagnela Mining Company and Oheneba Mining Enterprise, and their galamsay-assigns.

The ruthless and super-greedy promoters, of both those lawless entities, and their galamsay-assigns, once upon a time mined gold illegally, in parts of our said freehold Akyem Juaso  upland evergreen rainforest property.

I believe that the docket containing the investigative-report about that abominable-outrage, is with then-Inspector Nana Abronoma, who led the Ghana Police Service's Criminal Investigations Department's (CID) headquarters team, which went to Akyem Juaso to arrest the galamsay-assigns, of Hagnela Mining Company, and Oheneba Mining Enterprise, on the said P. E. Thompson Estate Akyem Juaso rainforest property. Cool.

As it happens, the promoters of both companies, and their assigns, apparently sponsored the illegal logging-for-bushcut-lumber, to enable them pay for their illegal gold mining  operations on our land (in collusion with my thoroughly dishonest cousin, the good-for-nothing-loser, Kwame Thompson, and his key accomplices, the now-deposed corrupt Abusuapanin, Bampoe, and our sacked crook-of-an-overseer, Awuku Red), on our still mostly pristine property.

Eeiiiii, Oman Ghana, enti yewieye paaaaaa enei? Asem, kesie bi, ebaba debi ankasa, ooooo. Yoooooo...

Finally, Ghanafuo, my most-alarming-take-away, from my said recent trip to our Akyem Juaso forest property - in case it escapes the geniuses in charge of our ever-so-brilliant  best-in-the-world, national security apparatus:

Osino, Akyem Saamang and Akyem Juaso, are actually crawling with scores of hungry-and-desparate-to-be-rich-youth, from sister West African nations - some of whom, it is actually  not  beyond the realms of possibility, are desperados who might even end up as part of tomorrow's terrorist-cells', advance guard, oooo. Yoooooo,..

The question we must all  ponder over is: Is it possible that somehow, one day, some of those hungry-and-desparate-to-be-rich-youth, might be used to replicate the resource-grab-inspired-war-lordism that fueled the brutal civil wars in Liberia, Sierra Leone and the Ivory Coast, in Ghana too, anaaaa - as the price of gold continues to spike? Massa, who born dog? Hmmm, Oman Ghana, eyooooo, ooooo - enti yeweiye paaaaa, enie?  Asem kesie bi, ebeba debi ankasa, ooooo. Yooooooo...

A Quick Note To Players In Ghana's Potentially World-Beating Creative Arts Sector

Ghana's creative arts sector, has the potential to earn our nation billions of dollars annually - generating wealth  that remains locally, and jobs galore, nationwide, on top,  too. Alas, the sector's players' main  problem, is that in the digitised-era of global livestreaming, they mostly still don't really see the transformative-possibilities that could be unleashed, through  international collaborations, incentivised by the granting of long tax holidays,  for their sector. Pity.

Ghana's younger generation of film-makers (and other players in our  creative arts sector, such as our nation's brilliant musicians like the Shatta Wales, Kidis and Kofi Kinnatas), need to understand clearly, that it would  be far  more productive, in the longterm,  to ask Ghanaian governments of the day, to simply make the creative arts sector, a tax-free one. Case closed. Full stop.

The question  the sector's players need to ponder over is: Would a national  policy granting the creative arts sector tax-free status, not  definitely attract overseas filmakers, and other creative-types, from nations such as Finland (check Finnpartnerships.com), to come to partner young Ghanaian creative-types, in well-funded private-sector collaborative projects, right here, in Nkrumah's Ghana? Yoooooo...

Finally, would that not globalise their individual brands, and make  many of them hard-currency-miilionaires-and-billionaires? Ebeiii, Massa, mu kaasa, koraaaa, too much. Above all, it is time they stopped following fickle politrickcians, ooooo, and united instead - and took their collective-future into their own sodden hands. When, koraaaa, will our creative-types realise that in the post-COVID-19-livestreaming-era, they  are potential world-beaters? Haaba. Who born dog,I ask?

Can Ghana-Japan Collaboration Lead To Japan Being Powered 100 Percent By Emission-Free Clean Power?

The relationship between the peoples of Ghana and Japan, goes back to the l920s, when the Japanese yellow fever researcher, Dr. Hideyo Noguchi, first set foot on our shores, in 1927. Over the  decades since then, that Japan has been a generous friend, of our nation, and it's sovereign people, has never  been  in doubt.

One of the fruits of that relationship, is the world-class Noguchi Memorial Institute for Biomedical Research, generously funded, built and donated by the Imperial Japanese Government, to the government and people of Ghana - to honour the memory of Dr. Hideyo Noguchi, who succumbed to the  yellow fever that he was researching,  in Ghana, himself: and eventually died from the disease in 1928.

(According to the website of the Nuguchi  Memorial Institute for Biomedical Research, 'The Institute is the result of joint efforts by Prof. E. O. Easmon, former Dean of the University of Ghana Medical School, Prof. Kenji Honda of Fukushima Medical School in Japan and the Japan International Co-operation Agency (JICA)'. Fantastic.)

Furthermore,  as a result of their unique culture, our relatiobship with Japan, is one based on  genuine mutual respect, trust, and, a desire to see Ghanaian-Japanese collaboration (anchored on a bedrock of  ethical-non-exploitative corruption-free win-win-collaboration), leading to the transformation of Ghanaian society, into an inclusive, happy and prosperous corruption-free-nation, that is democratic, and well-run, as well. Cool.

It is in light of that genuine, and altruistic bond, in the relationship  between Ghana and  Japan (as opposed to the hypocritical, distrespectful and largely-exploitative nature, of Ghana's relationship with other Asian powers), that this blog is bringing a game-changing, emission-free clean power invention, to the attention of Japan's national security officials. And  about time, too, in one's humble view.

That serenpiditious power-sector invention, will enable Japanese  private-sector power companies, to collaborate with the brilliant Ghanaian inventor, Merchant Marine Chief Engineer, Raphael Afoardonyi, to give Japan  energy-independence (a longheld strategic goal of Japan), by making it leverage Raphael's genuis. Ultimately, it will enable Ghana and Japan, to stop humankind  from reaching the climate-change-tipping-point-of-no-return. How marvellous. Cool.

Finally, such win-win collaboration, between private-sector Ghanaian and Japanese entities, will finally empower a 100 percent emission-free clean-powered Japan,  to become the global leader, and supplier, of off-grid stand-alone emission-free clean power systems (which produce eletricity that never goes off regardless of prevailing weather conditions!), and, at rates far, far heaper, than electricity from  even nuclear power plants. This blog is always happy to link Japan's secret services, to Raphael Afoardonyi, directly, whenever approached. Cool.

Should God Almighty Bless The Manassah Azures Of The Ghanaian Media World?

In the end, honest and patriotic media professionals, will save Ghanaian democracy from being destroyed, by endemic high-level  corruption. That is why we must all pray that God Almighty  blesses the Manassah Azures of the Ghanaian media world. What a difference those brave young and patriotic investigative journalists make for the well-being of  Mother Ghana.

Sadly, the plain truth about our nation,  is that the selfsame powerful vested interests, robbing Mother Ghana blind, have actually  succeeded in turning both the New Patriotic Party (NPP), and the National Democratic Congress (NDC), into cash-hungry and cash-dependant criminal-syndicates. Full stop.

Thus, to successfully stand up to their amazing-stealth-power and influence,  media professionals in Ghana (worried about that the miasma slowly but surely enveloping Ghanaian democracy), must,  perforce,  ally themselves, with progressive media organisations, overseas, such as the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ). Simple.

Above all, every dedicated and patriotic young media professional in Ghana, who is keen to specialise  in investigative journalism, needs to understand clearly, that  being overly-materialistic, isn't a character-trait, which makes for good investigative journalism practice, in Ghana, koraaa, ooooo. Yoooooo...

Naturally, having indepedent  means, helps somewhat - if powerful thieves-in-high-places don't succeed in targeting that source of income,  too, that is. Hmmm, Oman Ghana, enti yeweiye, paaaa, enei? Asem kesie bi, ebeba debi, ankasa, oooo. Yoooooo...

It might interest the Manassah Azures to know that some of the assets, in my own family's considerable freehold-landholding, in Ghana's Eastern Region, have been under attack by illegal loggers, illegal gold miners and illegal sandwinners, all sponsored by powerful people, simply to impoverish moi, for decades now.

That is how come 'orders-from-above', have resulted in the creation of  a number of gold concessions in our 14-square mile Akyem Juaso freehold upland evergreen rainforest property - which is part of an area of the Atewa Range, designated a Globally Significant Biodiversity Area (GSBA)

Yet, we plan to transform that particular freehold rainforest  asset,  into a living laboratory, and global centre of excellence, for biodiversity researchers, by building what will be the world's longest forest canopy walkway (1000 metres long with 19 bridges), as the centrepiece  attraction, in a community-based  conservation-through-ecotourism initiative. Hmmmm, eyeasem, oooo...

The question is: How come officials of sundry regulatory bodies, boldly took over our privately-owned freehold rainforest property, and handed it over to other private entrepreneurs (and small-scale community-gold-miners), to mine gold in, without recourse to us, the bonafide owners (since 1921, from the British colonial era)? Because they boldly speak truth to power, one's prayer, is that God Almighty blesses, guides and protects the Mannasah Azures of Ghana's media landscape, always. Case closed. Full stop. Cool.

A Quick Note To Daryl Bosu - A Rocha Ghana's Fearless Number Two: And Bold Environmental Activist

My dear Daryl,

You are absolutely right: Agro-forestry plantations can never be compared to old-growth-forests. No. No. No. They are not the same. And, they can never be the same, either. Ever. Case closed. Hmmmm, Oman Ghana - eyeasem, oooo. Yooooooo...

Forests actually evolve over millions of years, wai, Opanin Paaaapabi, Daryl. They contain trillions of dollars worth of yet-to-be-discovered medicinal plants, too, ooooo, wai.

Furthermore, with the benefit of COVID-19-hindsight, is it not obvious, and crucial, that as an aspirational and wise African people, we preserve what is left of our nation's natural heritage? Haaba.

Massa, some think me rude, and crude, when one gets fed up, and calls spades, spades, not big-metal-spoon-like-accoutrements.

What is wrong koraaa, with saving the Atewa Forest Reserve, by obtaining bauxite from our sister nations, Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone, for an integrated West African aluminium industry, which creates jobs, and generates wealth that stays locally, and helps keep them stable and peaceful, too,  I ask?

Meanwhile, we have all seen viral videos that make it quite plain that behind closed doors, the Chinese imply that Africans are sub-human and incredibly stupid.

And, for such bigoted-racists and ace-hypocrites, our leaders are happy and willing to destroy the Atewa Forest Reserve - a watershed for three major river systems from which  water is sourced for treatment and supplied to over 5 million Ghanaians across southern Ghana? Haaba. Incredible.

Ditto destroy an upland evergreen rainforest, which also happens to be a  Globally Significant Biodiversity Area (GSBA), to mine bauxite for the selfsame Chinese who secretly  make out that we are sub-human and stupid? Ebeiiii.

Yet, we aren't allowed to  call those selfsame leaders (that the Chinese apparently laugh at behind closed doors for being sub-human and stupid), stupid? How? Haaba.

Massa, the plain truth about the mass-destruction of Ghana's forests, is that that national tragedy, actually represents an existential threat, of apocalyptic proportions. Hmmmm, Oman Ghana - enti, yewieye paaaa, enei? Yooooooo...

The unvarnished truth, is that we are led mostly by greedy, stupid and short-sighted-philistines: serbii, serbii, ooooo, Ghanafuo. Sadly, those too-clever-by-half-geniuses, know the prices of all manner of things, under the hot African sun -  but, alas, haven't the faintest idea, about the incalculable-value, of our priceless natural heritage, wai, Massa. The sods.

A Quick Note To Issa Ouedraogo - The Harworking CEO And Founder Of The Green Eco-Agri-Business, BOVID

My dear Issa,

The very lucrative green enterprise, which  you founded,  and continue to run so successfully, is just the  kind of  inclusive-green-agribusiness, which our nation ought to encourage, with long tax holidays - if we want to become an inclusive and prosperous, modern-day-African-society, ooooo. Yoooooo...

Furthermore, surely, as an asiprational people, we must make it clear to  the politicians, and political parties, insisting that even those Ghanaian   businesses, run by incorrigible-wealthy-crooks, which fuel high-level-corruption, responsible for the plain corporate-thievery, eroding the moral fabric of today's Ghana, must, willy-nilly, be supported, that that outrageous public-stance of theirs, is not only amoral, but intellectually-dishonest, in the extreme, too? Yoooooo...

Finally, it never ceases to amaze, moi,  that there are many highly-intelligent Ghanaians, who posit that privately-owned Ghanaian banks (run like the personal-piggy-banks of unethical directors, and shareholders-sans-moral-compasses), ought to have been allowed to continue doing business. How, I ask?

Is one to presume that in their view, such banks should have been permitted to continue using depositors cash, to fund directors', and shareholders', super-expensive lifestyles, and fund their personal projects (designed to send their net worth to stratospheric heights, on top of that unspeakable-and-unforgivable-abomination), on top too, at the expense of hapless depositors - just because they were indigenously-owned businesses? How sad. How amazing. And,  how very troubling.

Finally, with the greatest respect, Issa, don't you agree with those of us, who insist that nothing can justify such corporate-crookedness, koraaaa, anaaaaa - if we want to see the emergence of world-class (and global-class-leading) Ghanaian businesses, such as your BOVID, which are built on the bedrock of corporate good governance principles, evolving, to dominate the African continental free trade area: and creating wealth for brilliant-cohorts-of-young-wealthy-green-entrepreneurs, across our homeland Ghana, and generating  jobs galore, too, nationwide?  Who born dog, I ask, Massa? Yoooooo...

What Drives Our Homeland Ghana's Ruling-Elites' Endless Borrowing Sprees?

Speaking personally, I am pretty sure that most of our ruling-elites, are all angels, oooo. Does it not fooooo, a priori, then, that it is their sum-sum-doubles (not actually they themselves), who are so busy  gang-raping Mother Ghana and Mother Nature,  in such brutal fashion? Hmmm, eyeasem oooo...

However, be that as it may, alas, there are on-the-ground-realities, about egregious high-level-corruption, in our country, which as decent, principled snd patriotic-concerned-citizens,  we cannot possibly ignore, too, oooo. Yoooooooo...

As aspirational, modern-day-rennaisance Pan-Africanists, perhaps the question we need to ponder over is: Why is it that although Ghana's leaders could fund all our infrastructural expansion, and modernisation projects, entirely, simply by inviting competitive bids, from around the globe, for self-funding-consortia, which are able, and willing,  to self-finance the building of say, railway lines, and tolled concrete motorways,  to connect all our regional capitals, in 35-year public private partnership deals (PPP), in which their profits remain tax-free, and can always be repartriated; do we still insist on endless borrowing, to fund such projects, koraaaaa? Hmmmm, eyeasem, ooooo...

Although I personally think that all the members of our ohhh-ever-so-clever-ruling-elites, are high-minded, noble and incorruptible beings, alas, one cannot rule out  a few in-your-face-possibilities, koraaaa, ooooo, Ghanafuo. Yooooooo...

Amanfuo, much as we wish it weren't so, we cannot rule out the possibility that (and it really  is not beyond the realms of possibilinaf koraaa, oooo), perhaps it is sum-sum-spiritual-greed (swiftly diagnosed by self-seeking crooks-in-white-dog-collars, engaged in profitable fat-brown-envelope PR work), and secret stealth-commissions-cum-kickbacks, earned by large armies of well-connected, and well-heeled-professional-advisors, which drive iur borrowing.

The question is: Does the need to ensure wealth-creation oppotunities, for  those lucky regime-golden-princelings, whose super-lucrative private consultancies, are said  (by obviously envious bush-telegraph sources), to earn zillions, in hard currency cushy-deals, whenever Ghana goes aborrowing to add to its massive debt mountain!), actually drive our current leaders' passion for rushing to borrow-and-borrow-and-borrow, as if there was no tomorrow? Case closed? Yoooooo...

From 2021 Should Parliament Aim To Make Ghana Africa's First No-Go-Territory For Ruthless-And-Exploitative-Employers?

Ghanaians are a freedom-loving, civilised and mostly-aspirational people, who work hard - and love to have good-cheer-fun, too. That productivity-and-life-balance, constantly guides the sovereign citizens, of the Republic of Ghana. In one's humble view, thus far, somehow,  perhaps we have survived COVID-19, because of that.

To continue fighting the existential threat COVID-19 poses, the protection of the rights of employees,  ought to be the bedrock upon which, from 2021, the transformation of our homeland Ghana into a law-abiding-commercial territory, in which no employers can cloak the hiring of permanent-workers, as casual-labourers, without any rights whatsoever - and legally continue to remain in business. Full stop. Case closed.

That is why Parliament must pass all the needed legistlation, in 2021, to ensure  that ours becomes an attractive fair-employment corporate-landscape, in continental Africa's  free-trade area.

Simply put, to withstand present, and forecasted coming global pandemics,  Ghana must become a fair and inclusive society,  in which both businesses and their workforces collaborate, in win-win fashion. In other words, from 2021, to make us resilient and better able to withstand global pandemics, Parliament must aim to make Ghana Africa's first no-go-territory, for ruthless-and-exploitative-employers, by passing all the needed underpinning-preventative-legislation. Cool.
