Our ruling-élites need to realise that they are drinking in the Last-Chance-Blue-Kiosk. When one listens to them these days, it is almost as if most of the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) young-turks, have forgotten, so soon, that their ruling party actually received a real drubbing, from a very clued-on-electorate, in the skirt-and-blouse presidential and parliamentary elections, of December 2020. Hmmm, eyeasem, ooooo...
The infernal-arrogance, of the smug Kojo Oppong-Nkrumahs, and Nana Boakyes, in those bizzare Supreme Court election petition post-hearing equalisation-press-conferences, illustrate perfectly, just how tone-deaf our ruling-élites have become. Hmmm, Oman Ghana - enti yewieye paaa enei? Yooooooo...
The question we need to ponder over is: Why do a wise and aspirational people, appear to be failing to see the manifest-dangers, inherent in our complacency about the safety of our Republic, our inexplicable-noncholance, about the health of Ghanaian democracy, and, worst of all, the total disinterest, of most of soceity's well-off, in the plight of the masses?
The paradox, in all this, is that while we constantly boast about being a stellar African constitutional democracy, injustice, arrogance and impunity, have quietly conspired, to create perfect conditions, for a military putsch, by angry and oft-humiliated digital-native military officers. Yooooooo...
So, dear reader, do not be surprised, when the next Jerry Rawlings, finally strikes - to carry out a year's housecleaning exercise to demand a rendering-of-accounts, by the thieves-in-high-places, brutally gang-raping Mother Ghana - and is welcomed joyously with rapturous hosannas and hallelujahs, by today's totally fed-up, hapless-masses, oooo, Massa. Arrogance, in an era of global coronavirus pandemics, definitely has consequences. Seriously. Yooooooo...
