Ohemaa, I was fascinated by your recent Ghanaweb article, about nepotism in our country today.
Hmm, Ohemaa, what can you do with highly educated morons (some with PhD's!), who sincerely think that our nation's woes stem from the fact that the British colonialists left Ghana ( to quote our "moron-in-chief"): "too early"?
And, my dear, if you could influence-peddle your way to getting a consortium of banks, led by ones in which the Ghanaian nation-state has significant stakes, would you not go look for land near the seafront, or the Volta Lake, to create your own eco-paradise?
But it is typical of the unsophisticated and greedy "Nkruwasifuo" who are busy gang-raping mother Ghana, to covet (and finally takeover!) an expensive folly (built by a Lebanese man with more money than sense!), right next door, to (of all the noise-making nuisances for hotel guests needing some peace and quiet, after a busy day trying to grope through Ghana's Byzantine system!) a busy railway line - and does that not speak volumes about the kind of mentality these well-educated imbeciles in power today, have?
As for that Whittaker lady, why, if there are nations in Africa, whose leaders regard all foreigners as exotic creatures whom it is an honour for them to befriend and to interact with, who should blame her, for making hay, whiles the sun of today's stooges for neo-colonialism, who now hold power in Ghana, shines brightly?
My sister, she too must have her place under the African sun - don't lots of white-skinned carpetbagger crooks, rip our nation off, on a daily basis, too (with the complicity of some of our leaders)?
Have you forgotten the revelations in a law court in faraway Norway, which showed how the Norwegian cement giant, Scancem, bought its way in sub-Saharan Africa, by buying off some of our crooked leaders, and ended up buying valuable state assets across the continent, for peanuts?
So don't blame her - blame Ghana's cowardly middle classes: who forever sit on the fence and make their money whichever political party is in power, and like the famous three monkeys, see nothing; hear nothing; and say nothing of the wholesale plunder of our nation by foreigners (in league with some of our rulers).
What have they said, for example, about the outrage, of a shortsighted and mediocre leadership, superintending the virtual destruction of the cohesiveness of our country ( forged at great personal cost, by the non-tribalistic Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah), by actively encouraging a single, arrogant and megalomaniac tribal Chief (and having the gall to use Ghana's state machinery, to help that selfish personage!), to destabilise Ghana, with his overweening ambition: virtually destroying our nation's unity, in order, unbelievably, to apparently revive a feudal empire that can never be revived in 21st century Republican Ghana - because today's Ghanaians are not feudal serfs, but the free citizens of what is a supposedly democratic nation!
My dear, you are looking at the worst regime to rule Ghana, since we gained our independence. We suffered in the past, precisely because we got into debt that was draining the very lifeblood out of our country.
And it was the agitation of some of us that finally led the self-seeking neo-con Shylock's from the West to forgive that debt (largely because our campaign for debt relief, finally pricked the conscience of ordinary people - voters! - in their nations, and those ordinary citizens were no longer prepared to countenance the continued strangulation of a whole continent, by debt owed to their governments).
Yet, incredibly, the myopic tribal supremacists (who did not have the nous or the gumption to agitate for debt relief whiles some of us were, but have benefited from the breathing space it has offered our nation), have ended up piling up yet more debt since coming to power - in the foolish belief and hope, that tomorrow's envisaged oil and natural gas revenues, will help pay off some of that debt.
Hmm, well, we will soon see about that! I boldly predict, my dear, that ordinary people will rise up one fine day - and rid ourselves, finally, of the entirety of our self-seeking political class: and bring the 4th Republic to an end; in order to remove a political super- structure, which was specifically designed for the sole purpose of protecting the interests of those who unlawfully overthrew the 3rd Republic.
We will then make sure that those "walking-talking-and-breathing-illegalities" pay for their treasonable actions of 31st December, 1981 - whiles today's greedy crooks, currently in power in our country, are also investigated thoroughly: and all those found culpable, punished with long jail terms, for wilfully causing financial loss to the Ghanaian nation-state (amounting, incidentally, to billions of US$, if truth be told!).
No one must think that ordinary people will stand idly by, unconcerned, whiles foreigners and their local lackeys, benefit exclusively from Ghana's oil and natural gas deposits - as has happened in Nigeria; Gabon; Congo Brazzaville; Angola; etc. etc. Never. Period.
As sure as night follows day, we will nationalise the oil industry one day - taking a cue from nations like Venezuela and Russia: and use our oil and natural gas wealth, to transform Ghanaian society: to give all Ghanaians (not just a powerful few with greedy ambitions), a good quality of life - comparable to that enjoyed by Scandinavians!
Using our oil and natural gas wealth for the exclusive benefit of our country and all its people, is a non-negotiable, soon-to-be, fact-on-the-ground, of our national life - and there will be no compromise over that, ever! And even if some of those who love their country have to die in the process, to ensure that, well, so be it!
And finally, Ohemaa, as for those unthinking myrmidons, the "My-party-my-tribe-right-or-wrong" crowd, let them continue to help their respective political parties "chop Ghana small" as much as they want - in the end, ordinary patriotic and nationalistic Ghanaians, will prevail. Have no fears, my sister! May God bless and protect our homeland Ghana, always. Long live freedom! Long live Ghana
