Greenpeace Africa's: THIS is news we cannot ignore!

Dear Reader,

If we do not act now to stop the moratorium from being lifted, vast areas of the Congo Basin forest could be open for destructive logging.

Sneaky business!

Just after our ship tour in Central Africa ended, we received shocking news. The government of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) is setting in motion plans to scrap the 15 years old moratorium on new industrial logging permits. This means that the precious forest that humans and animals depend on, would be fair game to destroy and exploit for profit.

Ask the Prime Minister of the DRC to keep the moratorium in place!

What’s worse is while the DRC government started the process to lift the moratorium in Kinshasa on 10 November, it made empty statements on the importance of protecting its forests at COP23.

I don’t know about you, but this spells hypocrisy, a life-threatening act when there’s so much at stake. Will you join us to keep the moratorium in place?

Add your name to the petition NOW!

Sign our petition NOW - stop this process of lifting the moratorium on the allocation of new logging concessions in the DRC!
