Earth Day Network: Let's build the world we crave, one bite at a time. Foodprints for the future launches now!

Earth Day Network

Dear Friend,

We have some exciting news for you! In anticipation of the 50th anniversary of Earth Day in 2020, we are launching Foodprints for the Future, a new campaign to address one of the largest contributors to climate change facing us today: our food system.

What is a foodprint? A foodprint measures the environmental impacts associated with the growing, producing, transporting, and storing of our food— from the natural resources consumed, to the pollution produced, to the greenhouse gases emitted.

Through Foodprints, Earth Day Network aims to create low-impact, healthy, accessible and affordable food for all and for the planet. To realize this vision, we must unify food movements, hear diverse perspectives, and uplift the voices of those that climate change impacts most.

Foodprints for the Future will inspire much-needed improvements to our food system and policies through individual and institutional changes. This new campaign will enhance literacy around our food choices and food waste, showcase exciting new innovations in plant-based alternatives, and create a resounding call to connect plant-based food choices with climate solutions.

Join Foodprints for the Future today and help build the world we crave, one bite at a time!

While we should all be working to reduce our foodprints, there are many factors, including access, affordability, health and culture that help shape our decisions about what we eat. There is not one prescribed diet for everyone. Through this campaign, we’re highlighting the different ways individuals and institutions can make an impact on their foodprints.

Our vision is low-impact, healthy, accessible, and affordable food for all and for the planet. Learn more about Foodprints for the Future and join in!

If you are interested in cutting your foodprint, without sacrificing taste, health, or convenience Foodprints is for you. It’s not complicated, just Join. Eat. Share –

Join the movement. Eat delicious food. Share what you learn.

Sincerely,

Earth Day Network

P.S. Today is World Bee Day! Bees play a vital role in the agricultural industry – more than 30% of the world’s crops depend on pollinators like bees to thrive, making bees integral to the health and nutritional needs of people around the world. Without bees, ecosystems would collapse causing food shortages and impacting life on Earth. Learn how you can help to save bees now and for future generations here!
