Is The Lawlessness Of The NPP's Private Militias Ruining Ghana's Reputation As An Oasis Of Peace And Stability In Sub-Saharan Africa?

It is hard to comprehend why the Akufo-Addo administration still fails to recognise the immense harm being done to the country's image and reputation by the lawlessness of hardliners in the private militias operated by some members of the ruling party.

The question is: Have they forgotten so soon that the country that President Mahama's government handed over to them was devoid of such abominable and unpardonable violence - perpetrated  by myrmidons controlled by extremists operating with impunity from the shadows?

Those now governing our country ought to  understand clearly that Ghanaians did not vote the New Patriotic Party (NPP) into power to enable power-drunk thugs to hold Mother Ghana to ransom.

It is extraordinary that politicians who constantly state that they are committed to making the private sector the engine of growth in our national economy, are unable to comprehend that failing to deal effectively with the lawless elements in the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) private militias, sends the wrong signal to potential investors.

What serious investor would want to do business in an environment in which brutish thugs belonging to private militias operated by  important members of the ruling party, are forever on the rampage, defying the orders of law enforcement agencies - and ignoring the admonishments of even high government officials pleading with them  to act within the law?

The party that says it believes in the rule of law and due process must boldly confront the lawless elements within the NPP now defying even the president's authority in such blatant fashion. Are they not aware of the fact  that the shameful television news reports showing the disgraceful scenes beamed from Kumasi and other parts of the nation are being shared across the globe on online social media platforms?

The lawlessness of extremist elements in the so-called Invincible Forces and Delta Force is definitely soiling Ghana's global reputation as an oasis of  peace and stability in sub-Saharan Africa.

That is intolerable - and must cease forthwith. The time has come for the security agencies to take the necessary steps needed to disband all the private militias operated by political parties in Ghana.

For the sake of ordinary people  in our country this government must succeed. That is why President Akufo-Addo's administration must act firmly to halt the unacceptable barbarism now going on  - for those impudent buffoons are dragging Ghana's good name through the mud. Enough is enough.

Hmm, Oman Ghana - enti yeweiye paa enei? Haaba.
