We Must Stop Tolerating Corruption Amongst Officials Employed By Ghana's Regulatory Bodies

Regulatory bodies exist to protect the citizenry and ultimately ensure the well-being of the Ghanaian nation-state.

The question is: Will Ghanaians ever willingly follow all the rules and regulations outlined in laws contained in Acts of Parliament ostensibly passed for the common good - so that ours finally becomes an orderly society?

Perhaps in the fullness of time we will come to realise that a key repercussion from the massive gas explosion and devastating fire that followed immediately in its wake,  at the Atomic Road junction gas and petrol filling stations, was the sudden realisation by so many ordinary Ghanaians and civil society organisations (CSOs) that continuing to  tolerate dereliction of duty amongst public officials  employed by Ghana's regulatory bodies, is actually detrimental to society.

That is why  this blog supports the demand being made by concerned individuals, as well as SCOs in Ghana for a presidential commission that  will sit in public to get to the bottom of the factors that led to the gas explosion and fire at the Atomic Road junction gas and petrol filling stations.

Clearly, as a people, we must stop tolerating corruption amongst officials employed by the regulatory bodies in Ghana that lead to recurrent tragedies in which many innocent individuals lose their lives or suffer serious injuries.

Finally, above all, the Ghanaian media ought to focus its collective spotlight on the regulatory  ecosystem in Ghana - and expose the egregious corruption  that leads to regulatory failures that end up injuring and killing innocent people in our country.

Let us stop tolerating  corruption amongst officials employed by Ghana's regulatory bodies. Enough is enough. Haaba.
