Technology Intelligence is a major new journalism initiative from the Telegraph.

Launching today, our mission is to chronicle for our audience the technological revolution going on around us, and to campaign to harness it to ensure that Britain’s society and economy are retooled for the challenges of a new, global era.

With a brand new team of reporters, writers and editors based in London and Silicon Valley, our aim is to establish the Telegraph as the leading UK publisher of technology journalism.

Technology Intelligence will offer registered readers global technology journalism with a British voice, combined with a campaigning ambition to unleash Britain’s entrepreneurial spirit and establish the most diverse and vibrant networking organisation for the tech community.

We will be pressing for policies that unleash an entrepreneurial revolution to create the high-quality jobs of the future; campaigning to spread the opportunities of capitalism more widely to build a Britain of all the talents; and for a new emphasis on ensuring that the latest innovations give us greater control over our own lives.

It will report on five distinct journalism themes:

Companies - the stories of the biggest firms in the world, told through the personalities of their founders and executives or through the successes or failures of their corporate strategies;

Devices- news and reviews of the latest consumer products;

Development - from driverless cars to Artificial Intelligence, how technological breakthroughs are changing our world;

The effects of technology - the social and political fallout of our increasing dependence on products like smartphones and social media;

The UK startup scene - exploring, explaining and campaigning to help the future of one of the most exciting sectors of the British economy.
