Incredibly, Ghana's Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), once forgave Kosmos Energy a fine it imposed on it. In that particular instance, the EPA imposed the fine on the U.S. oil company, for spilling toxic material. Hmmm, Ghana, eyeasem o: asem kesie ebeba debi ankasa.
True to form, in exchange for being let off, Kwasiabuoahenfo-led Kosmos Energy promised to enhance the EPA's "capacity" - if one remembers that odious scratch-my-back-I-scratch-yours outrage, correctly, that is. On top of that abomination abomination, this being Ghana, the nation has thus far not even been informed by our mostly-politics-focused media, what exactly has been the outcome of that egregious example of particularly-shameful-public-sector-sanctioned-deals.
To be able to better protect the health of oil rig workers, and fisherfolk from our our coastal communities that operate in the non-restricted waters, in the areas off our coastline where oil is produced, the EPA's air-monitoring staff must seize the opportunity offered by the free oil and gas industry air-monitoring webinar, details of which we are posting today, to upgrade their knowledge in that field of human endeavour, for the nation's benefit.
Finally, one also hopes that the EPA's top brass will build a long-term relationship with the organisers of the free webinar, Environmental Leader.
