Should our nation's leaders not act swiftly to protect Ghanaians from the negative -impacts of climate change?

Dear critical-reader, should members of Ghana's hard-of-hearing political class, not begin to focus on studying the impacts of a warming planet - and act swiftly to implement policies needed to protect our nation and all its societal demographics from said climate-change-impacts?

One understands perfectly, for example, why a diligent Parliamentarian, such as Hon. Okudzato Abblakwa is considering taking the operators of the Akosombo hydroelectricity dam, the Volta River Authority (VRA), to court, for the disastrous impacts of the spillage of excess water from the dam, which has been necessitated, by the danger posed to the structural integrity, of the dam's retaining wall, by the volume of water accumulated behind it.

Sadly, however, despite Hon. Samuel Okudzato Abblakwa's good intentions, in that regard, the fact of the matter, is that as a people, we must come to terms with the impacts of extreme weather events resulting from a warming planet. Full stop.

All the coastal communities along our county's entire coastline, without exception, for example, will eventually be swallowed up by sea-level rise - resulting from melting sheet ice from the north and south poles - and no amount of executed sea defence wall construction contracts will prevent that coming-catastrophe, too, oooo, Ghanafuor. Yooooooo...

In that light, the question to ponder over as wise and aspirational Africans is: Should we not now start the process of planning how to creatively fund moving all our coastal communities to higher ground, in order to secure their collective-future?

Above all, dear critical-reader,  because it affects our ability to ensure food security for Ghanaians, members of our nation's hard-of-hearing political class ought to start focusing on studying the impacts of a warming planet, from successful climate-smart organic agripreneuers, such as the brilliant founder of B-BOVID, Issa Ouedraogo  -  and act swiftly to take all the steps need to protect our nation and all its societal-demographics from said climate-change-impacts, oooo, Ghanafuor. Now. Not tomorrow. Yoooooo...
