Alexis Ohanian Bought Billboards for Serena Williams, and I Can't Even Get a Text Back

Last night, I seriously considered reaching back out to a guy who insulted both my hair and my job on our first date just because I'm that thirsty for connection, and yet here Alexis Ohanian Sr. is, buying Serena Williams a bunch of billboards in Palm Springs to proclaim how amazing she is. I'm not kidding: Serena Williams' husband actually purchased four huge billboards in Palm Springs announcing what an incredible mother she is to their five-month-old daughter, Alexis. This is like Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, except way happier and romantic—but, ya know, just as deserving of an Academy Award.

"These just went up on alongside I-10 into Palm Springs. @olympiaohanian & I wanted to welcome her back to tennis. Designed them myself, with some help from Jr. #GMOAT," Ohanian posted on Instagram, alongside four photos of the billboards he took out for Williams. They read, "Greatest Momma Of All Time; Serena Williams G.M.O.A.T - Alexis Jr. + Sr." Notice how the billboards are from both Jr. and Sr. Alexis; as if this couldn't get cuter, their daughter apparently had a hand in this little project too.

Check it out for yourself, below.

This moment. This couple. This family! Why the hell are we all out here doing somersaults every time a romantic interest texts back when Ohanian is showering his wife with literal 30-foot compliments? We all deserve to have four billboards posted in our honor, damn it! It's high time to stop accepting the bare minimum from our friends, significant others, first dates—hell, everyone—and demand the love and respect we deserve. And for me, that looks like my imaginary boyfriend writing a sonnet in the sky with a G-6 airplane. Anything less is chopped liver. Thank you, Serena Williams and Alexis Ohanian Sr., for giving me the courage to type back, "Do better" the next time someone asks me, "Sup?"
