2024 presidential election: Should the NDC think the unthinkable - and replace John Mahama with Ibrahim Mahama?

Dear critical-reader, should Ghana's largest opposition party, the J.J. Rawlings inspired National Democratic Congress (NDC), think the unthinkable, and replace John Mahama with Ibrahim Mahama as their new presidential candidate, with Hon. Zenator Agyemang-Rawlings as his running mate?

With the greatest respect, there is no question that the NDC shot itself in the foot, metaphorically, when it elected to select former  President John Dramani Mahama  as its presidential candidate for this year's pivotal elections. And, how, lol. The bald truth, is that Mahama wasn't a very successful leader, for Mother Ghana, when he had the opportunity to lead it. Full stop.

He was unserious, floundered as president,  and his government ended up going cap-in-hand to the International Monetary Fund  (IMF), and World Bank. If the former president stands as the NDC's candidate, then, sadly, skirt-and-blouse voting will give the presidency to the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) - but, luckily for a wise and aspirational African people, who are long-suffering and peace loving,  complete control of Parliament, by the NDC, with a huge majority of seats, will be the outcome of the 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections, as sure as day follows night.

Let us also not forget that even before the elections, former President Mahama apparently wants a honeymoon period if he wins the presidency - a sure-fire harbinger of things to come should he (Heaven forbid) win the presidency:  endless systemic lockjams; failed promise upon failed promise;   and the devastating longterm effects of his laid-back leadership style that led Mother Ghana into the arms of the IMF and World Bank when he was president. It is said that those who don't learn from history,  are bound to repeat the mistakes of the past, to use a hackneyed-paraphrase, lol.

That said, dear critical-reader,  if it is the case that the NDC is fixated with the name Mahama, then one humbly recommends that they simply ask former President Mahama to voluntarily step aside, asap, as their presidential candidate, and move quickly to choose Ibrahim Mahama, instead, as their new presidential candidate, to replace the former president. Simple.

Clearly, we have reached a pivotal juncture, in the history of our  post-independence journey-of-nationhood,  when Ghana must spurn unserious politicians, and, instead, choose as its new leader, a serious and disciplined wealth-creating-genius, to helm what  is now a metaphorical rudderless ship - cast adrift, and slowly taking in water, and inexorably sinking,  in deep-blue-water, oooo, Ghanafuor. Yooooooooo...

What Mother Ghana desperately needs, is a real world-class leader,  who is a solid-achiever-type with a stellar track record of creating wealth that remains locally, and ownership of successful commercial undertakings that have generated jobs galore, and is personally super-rich, oooo, Ghanafuor. Yooooooooo...

If he has the wisdom to  step aside for his younger brother, then after the NDC assumes power in January, 2025, former President John Mahama can travel the world, representing Ghana in sundry international conclaves, and talk-shop-fora, while a newly-elected President Ibrahim Mahama stays at home, throughout his first tenure, to  focus exclusively on executing bleeding-edge policy ideas, to create an unrivalled low-tax business environment across the entirety of the landmass of our bankrupted Republic (now firmly controlled by the IMF, and the World Bank, both of which are working assiduously, here, even as we speak, to promote  the vital interests of the foreign powers that control both those Shylock-type  multilateral financial institutions - which were  designed in the first place  to enable them enslave emerging nations foolish enough  to seek their assistance, lol),  to spur economic growth that can help transform our  beleaguered homeland, into a happy and prosperous society, that benefits all its societal demographics, in equitable fashion.

With the best will in the world, dear critical-reader, John Dramani  Mahama can never lead Mother Ghana out of the doldrums she now finds herself metaphorically stranded in - and, truth be told, even our former president knows that deep down his own heart, oooo,  Ghanafuor. Yoooooooo...

If chosen to replace former President John Dramani Mahama, as the presidential candidate of the NDC,  one boldly predicts, without any equivocation whatsoever,  that a candidate Ibrahim Mahama, will trounce the presidential candidate of the ruling New Patriotic Party  (NPP),  Ghana's current Vice President, H. E. Muhammadu Bawumia, and win the 2024 presidential election by a stunning landslide. That is why the NDC must think the unthinkable, and replace John Mahama with Ibrahim Mahama, as their new presidential candidate. Case closed.  A word to the wise. Yooooooooo...
